Sept. 1-8, 2007 Water temp. 84f. Air temp 90f+. Vis 80-90ft+. Wetsuit req 3mm shortie/full suit. Greetings from the beautiful Cayman Islands! Once again we were joined by 14 divers from all over the USA. We enjoyed many familiar faces and repeat guests this week. After getting everyone onboard we headed to the North Side to enjoy a BBQ feast, listen to the Captains safety briefing and get a good night’s sleep in anticipation for tomorrows day of “Eat Sleep and Dive”

Sunday. Stingray City was first up! A early dive always brings out the hungry pesky critters, lots of squid and a plenty of divers skin was consumed! A short cruise up to Rum Point Channel was next. Here we saw eagle Rays, two turtles, Pipe fish and more lobster than we need to feed the boat!. Babylon was our afternoon dive site, one of the seven wonder’s of the world according to some! Here we enjoyed swimming through the crevice and the many chutes that are leading of the wall. No night dive tonight as we are heading to Little Cayman!

Monday. Randy’s Gazebo Bloody Bay Wall diving at its best! A healthy ledge at 100 ft 2 chimneys, a archway and giant barrel sponges all make for a fun morning! Friendly turtles, yellow stingray and many lobsters and a giant grouper all came out to say hello. The “Meadows” was next! The viz was awesome and we had plenty of encounters of the critter kind! Lobsters, eagle rays, reef sharks, eagle rays, more turtles and another awesome night dive.

Tuesday. Lea Lea’ Lookout was our first stop. Another beautiful crevice leading out to the wall as well as the, “Great Room” to explore. Today we were treated to nurse sharks, reef sharks, turtles, spotted drums, nudibranchs and gaggles of lobsters. 3 Fathom Wall was up next. Truly one of the best dive sites in the Caribbean (In my opinion!) A 18 ft shallow wall drop down to 6000ft. Here we enjoy swim thru’s and chutes, turtles, rays, Yellow stingray and a spotted drum! Another awesome night dive with plenty of nocturnal critters being sighted.

Wednesday. We enjoyed a mid night cruise to Cayman Brac to put us on the Russian Destroyer for our morning dives. Eagle rays, scorpion fish and of course the tour through the wreck. Bus Stop was the afternoon spot. Incredible vis sharks, turtles, rays, swim thru’s and the ever elusive Sail fin Blenny.

Thursday. Several guests ventured out for the predawn dive at Nancy’s Cup of Tea. A strong current made for an exciting dive however we moved down to the Great wall for our AM dives. What an awesome site. A shear wall dropping down to 6, 000 ft! A shallow reef which is home to Freddie the grouper and 4 of his close friends. Everyone had a blast including Freddie who snagged a Squirrel fish for his lunch. Well our last stop was at “Marilyn’s Cut” Another beautiful wall site where we enjoyed turtles, Snaggletooth the giant barracuda, reef squid and plenty of reef critters.

Friday. Fridays always come to quickly and this week was no different! We had 2 last dives on the Oro Verde and Devils Grotto to finish our week of fun diving. Its time to wash down the gear and try and get it all back into the bags it came in. An afternoon cocktail party is a chance to have a few laughs say our farewells and congratulate this weeks students. Congrats to Narcis for completing her advanced Open water her Nitrox! Also congrats on passing their Nitrox course to Kathy, Mary J and Mary C (Not bad Mary J for being 74 years young) Mary J certainly proves the point! your never too old to learn or come on the Aggressor to enjoy a week of “Eat Sleep and Dive! Aggressor style.

Until next time.
