July 1-8, 2006 Safety Drills and Diving General Weather Conditions: Air Temp a steady hovering around 80 with high humidity. Water temp: bath water 83F! The good ship Belize Aggressor III crew this week: Captain Jon, Engineer Irod, Dive masters: Bart and Nadia, Chef Thelma and last but not least Randy our Steward.

This weeks guests: Ricardo, Chuck, Ben, Ian, Mellisa, Ken, Suzanne and Scott the family black, our newly weds Charlotte and Scott Bassin, Mike, Marylou, Karl, Tom, Tim and Patricia

With a small tropical wave headed our way on Sunday we made our way directly from the rainy dock at 1800 to the east side of Long Cay at Lighthouse Reef. Arriving at 2300 so all we had to do is wake up and dive!!! After two dives at Dos Cocos on Sunday we were grateful to welcome the sun for the afternoon diving on Que brada just five minutes up the reef wall. The night dive being a great success with a shark sighting and octopus squid and as said by a guest everything you showed us prior to the dive.

Monday morning after a rainy night was inviting us with bright sunshine. So with a NE wind we moved over to Half Moon cay wall on the east side of lighthouse reef. As we pulled up to the mooring a few guests and myself were luck enough to see an eagle ray jump 4ft clear of the water twice. Some of the guest also spotted him underwater. For the second dive we had a pod of dolphin right next to the boat, which is becoming a regular occurrence. After lunch we move back to the west side of lighthouse to settle in for the night on Long Cay Wall. Treated to a very large nurse shark.

For the rest of the week we were extremely lucky with the weather having very light winds plenty of sun and excellent visibility in the water. We spent the rest of the week moving around long cay and half moon cay diving all our best sites. Most of the guests were lucky enough to have a close encounter experience with a manta stroking the underside of him as he passed numerous times over the top of them.

On one of our night dives we had four big nurse sharks under the boat. The same night I was standing with a guest looking off the back of the ship and watched a black tip reef shark quickly take a horse eyed jack in a puff of blood. So as the week closes to an end the weather also seems to be closing in with the next tropical wave just clipping us with its north end. Tonight we move to Turneffe for our last two dives. All in All a very good week

As I was finishing this report an excited guest rushed in to tell me they had been snorkeling with a pod of 8 dolphin what more could you want??
