Saturday May 9th
This week we welcomed aboard a Group from United Kingdom, France, and USA on the Kona Aggressor ll. We picked everyone up from the Kona Pier Saturday evening and headed out to the mooring for dinner and a briefing. We came up with a plan for the week and headed to bed so we could be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning.
Sunday May 10th
The Kona Aggressor ll headed south to Meadows for the first two dives. The group did a check out dive and was ready to see some critters. The highlights of the dive were a Dragon Wrasse, White Mouth Moray, Tritons Trumpet, and a Day Octopus. While Having a delicious meal we headed further south to Lions Den for dive number three. The talk on the dive deck after was of a Dragon Wrasse, Day Octopus, Spanish Rose, and Red Lion Fish. Next, We headed to the Hive for our last two dives of the day. Our guest really enjoyed the cave and recalled seeing Red Lion Fish, Decoy Scorpion Fish, Conger Eels and a Dragon Moray!
Monday May 11th
Paradise Pinnacle was the location of dive one and two and lucky for our guest as they had a pod of Spinner dolphins on the first dive. Along with Whitleys Box Fish, Garden Eels, Long Fin Anthia, two Conger Eels, Red Lion Fish and a Lantern Toby. Next, We headed to Peles Playground where some of the Highlights were Sea Star Shrimp, Long Handed Lobster, Turtle, and a Hammer Head Shark! The Kona Aggressor ll turned back north to Robs reef for the last two dives of the day. What our guest remembered the most was a Long Nose Butter Fly Fish (Black Phase), White Mouth Moray and on the night dive they saw Viper Moray, Seven Eleven Crab, Regal Slipper Lobster, Sculptured Slipper Lobster, and thousands of Shrimp.
Tuesday May 12th
The Kona Aggressor ll made a detour back south for the first two dives of the day at Au Au Crater. What our guest recalled most was two Frog Fish, Long Handed Lobster, Titan Scorpion Fish, and getting to snorkel with Spinner Dolphins for an hour! While we had a delicous meal prepared by our chef Matt we headed to Ridges for the third dive of the day. The talk on the dive deck after was of Giant Porcupine Puffer fish and a Barred Moray. Next, We headed to Manta Ville for the last two dives of the day. During the day dive the highlight were leaf Scorpion Fish, Spotted Boxfish, Long Spine Puffer Fish and Mantas. On the night dive we had a spectacular show put on by more than eight Mantas!!
Wednesday May 13th
After a good nights sleep the Kona Aggressor II headed back north to Turtle Pinnacle for the first two dives. Lucky we did as we got even more Spinner Dolphins along with seeing Flame Angel, Titan Scorpion Fish, Sail Fin Tangs, Blue Fin Trevally, Viper Moray and Leaf Scorpion Fish. Next, We headed to Garden Eel Cove where our guest recalled seeing Reticulated Butter Fly fish, Porcupine Puffer Fish, Seven Eleven Crab, and Mantas on all dives.The night dive had one of the best shows Ive seen in a long time!!!
Thursday May 14th
After spending the night on the mooring the Kona Aggressor II Headed back South to Chimney for the first dive and the guest liked all the Ring Tailed Wrasse and swimming in and out of the chimney and diver Daves zen like tour. Next, We headed further south to Amphitheater our guest enjoyed swimming through the lave tubes and viewing a White Tip Reef Shark! During lunch the Kona Aggressor ll went looking for Pilot Whales and found some ! After following them around we returned to the Dome for the third dive of the day and the talk on the dive deck was of seeing a Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Day Octopus, White Margin Nudibranch and a Seven Eleven Crab. Next, We Headed to Driftwood and got to see Giant Porcupine Fish, Day Octopus, Spotted Boxfish, Cowrie and a Flame Back Shrimp in the Lava Tube. For the night dive the guest voted for Pelagic Magic and had wide variety of Jellies and Pelagic Squid.
Friday May 15th
The last two dives of the week were at Old Airports and the high light were Strawberry Nudibranch, Gold Laced Nudibranch, Long Spine Puffer, Thornback Cow Fish and a Skip Jack Tuna chasing a bait ball around on top of the slope.
Saturday May 16th
We dropped our guests off at the pier in Kona and said our farewells to our new friends from United Kingdom, France and USA this week. Congratulation to our Iron Diver Nick . Thanks again for the awesome week we had a lot of fun with you aboard the Kona Aggressor ll. We hope to see you again soon!
