Saturday May 30th

This week we welcomed aboard a Group from Canada and USA on the Kona Aggressor ll. We picked everyone up from the Kona Pier Saturday evening and headed out to the mooring for dinner and a briefing. We came up with a plan for the week and headed to bed so we could be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning.

Sunday May 31st
The Kona Aggressor ll headed south to Meadows for the first two dives. The group did a check out dive and was ready to see some critters. The highlights of the dive were a Long Nose Butter Fly (black phase), Porcupine Puffer Fish, Crown of Thorns and a Turtle. While enjoying a delicious meal we headed further south to Lions Den for dive number three. The chatter on the dive deck afterwards was of a Strawberry Nudibranch, Leaf Scorpion Fish and a Hammerhead Shark! Next, We headed to the Hive for our last two dives of the day. Our guests really enjoyed the cave and recalled seeing a Yellow Margin Moray, Spotted Puffer, Spotted Box Fish, and a Fried Egg Nudibranch. On the night dive they saw an Undulated Moray, Conger Eel, Regal Slipper Lobster, Sculptured Slipper Lobster, Green Lobster, Red Lion Fish and a Gum Drop Nudibranch.

Monday June 1st

The Kona Aggressor ll headed out to sea for some whale watching unfortunately our luck was lacking, but we did appreciate a beautiful boat ride and headed back to Au Au Crater for our first two dives. The talk on the dive deck afterwards was of Wire Coral Gobies, Long Handed Lobster and a Green Turtle. Next, we headed to Lions Den, where our guest couldnt get enough of the pronounced finger reefs and the swim through with Leaf Scorpion Fish, Strawberry Nudibranch, Red Lion Fish and Tiger Snake Moray to boot. Robs Reef was to be the last dive spot for the day. The guests were thrilled to go back in the cave, and there they found a sleeping Conger Eel. On the night dive, the most memorable creatures were a Peppered Moray, Decoy Scorpion Fish, Marbled Shrimp and a Jeweled Anemone Crab.

Tuesday June 2nd

We moved to Paradise Pinnacle for the first two dives of the day. The discussion on the dive deck after the dives was of seeing Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Peacock Razor Wrasse, a Conger Eel, a Red Stripe Pipe Fish and a Long Fin Anthia. During lunch we moved north to Driftwood for the third dive. What our guests enjoyed most on the dive was swimming through the Lave Tubes and seeing a Devil Scorpion Fish, as well as a Long Nose Butter Fly Fish eating a Collector Urchin. Next, we headed further north to Manta Ville where our guests saw Mantas and a Titan Scorpion Fish. For the night dive, it was to be Pelagic Magic, where our guests witnessed the largest migration that takes place on our planet everyday by all the alien creatures that come up from the depths.

Wednesday June 3rd

The Kona Aggressor ll headed south after a good nights sleep on our mooring in Kona to the Dome. The talk on the dive deck afterwards was of a Peacock Razor Wrasse, Viper Moray, Dragon Wrasse, Rock Mover Wrasse and a White Tip Reef Shark. Next, We headed to Amphitheater where our guests had fun in the Lava Tubes, viewing Cowries and a Devil Scorpion Fish. Next, we headed to Manta ville where our guests saw Mantas on both dives with two big Titan Scorpion Fish on the day dive.

Thursday June 4th

Early in the morning, the Kona Aggressor ll headed north to Turtle Pinnacle where we were escorted by a Pod of Spinner Dolphins that later swam with our guests between dives. The highlights on the dive were a Viper Moray, Flame Angel Fish and a Turtle. Next, we headed further north to Garden Eel Cove for our last three dives. During dives three and four the highlights were White Patch Razor Wrasse, Garden Eels, Porcupine Puffer Fish and a Reticulated Butterfly Fish. On the night dive we had a spectacular show put on by some very hungry Mantas.

Friday June 5th

The last two dives of the week were at Old Airport where our guests saw Banded Coral Shrimp, White Mouth Moray, Lined Butterfly Fish, Spotted Box Fish, Dragon Wrasse and a Juvenile Short Nose Wrasse.
