Sunday 16th August

Today is arrival day and with great excitement we welcomed 11 wonderful guests from the USA, Belgium, Malaysia, UK and Germany. Due to late arrival there was no diving today and in the late afternoon we sailed to the south of Komodo Island.

Monday, 17th August

We began our day with a checkout dive at Lahsera Bay, A gentle reef slope with highlights being Napoleon wrasse, hawksbill turtles and a beautiful flat worm.

We moved to Langkoi for our second dive and did two dives at the Alley where we hoped to find Mantas. Although the water was cool (23 degrees) and the visibility was not perfect (10-15 metres). We did see more Mantas than we could count as well as dolphins and a black tip reef shark. A fantastic way to start our diving together.

We then moved north to Padar Island the location of our night dive. Highlights included warty frogfish, cuttlefish, zebra crabs and nudibranchs.

Tuesday, 18th August

We began our day diving Lighthouse Reef, A beautiful reef slope full of incredible corals. Highlights included mantas, marble rays, white tip reef sharks and leaf scorpion fish.

Our next dive was at Castle Rock a stunning pinnacle dive. Highlights included large schools of sweetlips, giant trevally and surgeon fish as well as napoleon wrasse and white tip reef sharks.

After lunch we moved west to Komodo Island and an area known as Batumoncho. Our dive at Big Nose had highlights of white tip reef sharks, pygmy seahorses, napoleon wrasse and ribbon eels.

Our night dive was at Coral Garden. Highlights included a variety of nudibranchs and crustaceans.

Wednesday, 19th August

In the early hours of the morning we made the short crossing west to Banta Island. We began our day diving The Corner an incredible dive with stunning corals. Highlights included many mantas and a very large moray.

Our second dive was at K2. A great slope and wall dive combination. Highlights included nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and lady bugs.

After lunch it was time to dive Starwars. Another great dive with highlights being cuttlefish and a variety of nudibranchs.

Our night dive was at Circus. A fantastic dive with highlights being Stargazers, carrier and decorator crabs, snake eels and cuttlefish.

Thursday, 20th August

We moved back east to Gili Lawa Darat and Shotgun the location of our first dive. A great drift dive with highlights being mantas, giant trevally and green turtles.

Our second dive was at Crystal rock a fantastic pinnacle dive. Highlights included hawksbill turtles, large schools of Jacks, Giant Trevally, snappers and sweet lips as well as white tip reef sharks.

After lunch our third dive was at GLD passage. Another great drift with some amazing corals. Highlights included pygmy seahorses, leaf scorpion fish, white tip reef sharks and hawksbill turtles.

We then visited GLD and for those of us with the energy we climbed to the top and enjoyed a spectacular view of the Komodo National Park.

Our night dive was at Spanish Steps sadly the Spanish dancers eluded us but highlights included a variety of crustaceans, nudibranchs and a dwarf cuttlefish.

Friday 21st August

We began our day diving Batu Balong an incredible pinnacle dive full of life. Highlights included large hawksbill turtles, banded sea snakes, Napoleon wrasse, groupers and white tip reef sharks.

We then moved to Makasaar where we hoped to find mantas. A great dive with highlights of Mantas, spotted eagle rays and a lone great barracuda. A special mention to Pat who completed her 400th dive.

After we lunch it was time to dive Honeymoon Rock another great pinnacle dive. Highlights included nudibranchs, many hawksbill turtles and bumphead parrot fish.

Our night dive was at Wainilu an action packed dive. Highlights included spiny devilfish, strawberry nudibranchs, painted frog fish and a wide variety of crustaceans.
