17th January 2016

Today is arrival day on board the Indo aggressor and with great excitement we welcomed 8 guests from Germany, UK, USA and Canada. Sadly no time for a check out dive but we enjoyed a wonderful dinner together before retiring for an early night in preparation of a magical days diving.

18th January 2016

We were all up bright and early to begin our first day of diving together. Our check dive was in the bay of GLD. Wonderful warm and clear water allowed us to really appreciate the incredible hard corals, Highlights included huge cuttlefish, hawksbill turtles and leaf scorpionfish.

We then moved to GLL and dived Castle rock with some moderate to strong current. A wonderful pinnacle highlights included many white tip reef sharks, black tip reef sharks and grey sharks as well as large schools of jacks trevally and sweetlips as well as a crocodile fish.

Our third dive was at Crystal Rock we kept our guests protected on the leeside. Highlights included pygmy seahorses, hawksbill turtles, napoleon wrasse as well as incredible corals.

Our night dive was back at GLD on a site known as Spanish Steps. Highlights included Spanish Dancres and a variety of crustaceans.

Tuesday 19th January

In the early hours we headed west just outside the national park to an island known as Banta. Our first dive at The Corner included astounding corals, a manta, leaf scorpion fish and nudibranchs.

Our second dive was at Rollercoaster an incredible wall dive. Highlights included a massive giant grouper (3metres) , banded sea snake, pygmy seahorse and large schools of unicorn fish, bat fish and trevally.

Our third dive was at K2 another great wall dive where we focused mostly on the macro. Highlights included juvenile spotted sweet lips, octopus, nudibranchs and a variety of crustaceans.

Our night dive at Circus never fails to deliver. Highlights included stargazers, bobtail squid, bigfin squid, flounders, white v octopus and spiny devil fish.

Wednesday 20th January

We began our day back at GLL diving Crystal Rock. We had some good current to deal with highlights included black and white tip reef sharks, giant trevally and large schools of sweetlips.

Our second dive was Shotgun a fun drift dive. Highlights included spotted eagle ray, barracuda, white tip reef sharks and leaf scorpion fish.

Our third dive was at Castle Rock a great pinnacle dive. Highlights included white tip reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, giant trevally and large schools of batfish, snapper and sweetlips.

In the late afternoon some of us visited the island of Gili Lawa Darat and enjoyed some beach time and a short hike to the view point.

Our night dive was at GLD Bay. Highlights included bobtail squid, big fin squid, nudibranchs and a variety of crustaceans.

Thursday 21st January

We began our day diving Batu Balong an incredible pinnacle dive with amazing diversity. Highlights included schooling anthias, turtles, napoleon wrasse, giant trevally and octopus to name but a few.

Our second dive was at Makassar Reeef where we hoped to find mantas. Luck was with us and we had one incredible experience after another with these amazingly graceful creatures.

We then moved across to Sebayor Reef and enjoyed a calm dive where the focus was more macro orientated. Highlights included ribbon eels, leaf scorpion fish, jaw fish, flatworms and nudis.

Our night dive was also at Sebayor. Highlights included stargazers, Spanish dancers, carrier crabs and painted lobsters.

Friday 22nd January

We began our day diving Tatawa Besaar an incredibly beautiful site with amazing corals. Highlights included spotted eagle ray, white tip reef shark, hawksbill turtles, oriental sweetlips and bat fish.

Our second dive was at Siaba another incredibly beautiful site. Highlights included huge napoleon wrasse, white tip reef sharks, barracuda and a wide variety of reef fish.

Our third dive was at Honeymoon Rock another great pinnacle dive. Highlights included pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, coleman shrimps and bumphead parrot fish.

Our night dive was at Wainilu a muck diving site. Highlights included strawberry nudibranchs, ornate ghostpipe fish, spiny devilfish, cuttlefish and bigfin squid

Saturday 23rd January

We moved to Padar Island in the early hours and began our days diving at Secret Garden. Highlights included marble rays, giant frogfish and nudibranchs.

Our second dive was at W Reef. Three incredible pinnacles alongside one another. Highlights included Giant frogfish, cuttlefish, giant morays and nudibranchs.

Our third dive was at Pusir Putih sadly visibility wasn’t great however highlights included giant frogfish, leaf scorpion fish, painted lobsters and a variety of nudibranchs.

We then visited the Pink beach on Padar Island and watched the setting sun. we were also fortunate enough to see many juvenile black fin reef sharks in the shallows.

Our night dive was again at Pusir Putih. Highlights included three Spanish dancers, giant frogfish and oscillated frogfish.

Sunday 24th January

In the early hours of the morning we moved further south to Nusakode on the south of Rinja Island. We began our day diving Pelican Head a great wall dive with incredible coral diversity. Highlights included ladybugs, nudibranchs and several large hawksbill turtles.

Our second dive was at Cannibal Rock. A beautiful seamount teeming with life. Highlights included nudibranchs, white tip reef sharks, giant trevally and an assortment of reef fish.

Our third dive was at Yellow Wall a fabulous wall dive full of life. Highlights included a shovel nose ray, groupers, napoleon wrasse, octopus, ladybugs and nudibranchs.

We then visited the beach and got up close and personal with the local Komodo Dragons. A wonderful and unique experience for those visiting Komodo.

Our night dive was at Torpedo Alley. Highlights included bobtail squid, big fin squid, nudibranchs, dwarf cuttlefish and a thorny seahorse.

Monday 25th January

In the early hours we moved to Langkoi on the southern tip of Komodo Island. We began our day doing our first three dives at The Alley. We had three incredible dive in clear, blue and warm water with many sightings of mantas.

We then moved to Lahsera Bay for our night dive on the Phinnissi Wreck. Highlights included Spanish dancers, flatworms, nudibranchs and flying squid.

Tuesday 26th January

Overnight we headed north to spend our final day in Current City. We had our first dive at Batu Balong an incredible pinnacle full of life. Highlights included schooling anthias, white tip reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, hawksbill turtles and so much more.

Our final dive of the trip was at Makassaar Reef where we were hoping for a final manta encounter. Luck was with us and we had incredible experiences with mantas a perfect end to an incredible trip.

We then headed to the north of Rinja Island for the official dragon trek. We got up close and personal with Komodo Dragons, timor deer, monkeys and wild pigs.

It was then time to head back to the boat hoist the sails and take a slow cruise back to the port of Labuan Bajo. Along the way we had a farewell cocktail and enjoyed our final evening together.
