…16 divers joined us aboard the Belize Aggressor III. Guests began the boarding process after 3:00PM. Each guest was shown to their cabins and SCUBA gear was setup. We had our welcome aboard briefing and champagne toast at 5:30PM.
Sunday March 6th
…After a fantastic breakfast, Kenley briefed the divers and away they went on their checkout dive. Good sightings- eagle rays, free swimming green moray eels, white spotted toadfish, a hawks bill turtle, and a big 4 foot barracuda right beneath the BAIII.
Monday March 7th
…We awoke to a sunny day on Long Caye at Lighthouse Reef. The divers enjoyed beautiful walls, great cleaning stations and an incredible dolphin encounter during the night dive!
Tuesday March 8th
…The day started well with sunshine and clear skies. A deep dive into the Blue Hole, then off to Half Moon Caye for some island time! For the afternoon and night dives everyone enjoyed Long Caye Wall. 20 tarpon right beneath the ladders, lush soft corals, big healthy barrel sponges, and hundreds of Creole wrasse cruising the reef wall.
…Two beautiful dive sites provided everyone with something fun. Schools of sergeant majors, Bermuda chubs, midnight parrot fish, eagle rays, eels, and a giant logger head turtle were just some of the encounters.
Thursday March 10th
…Winds increasing a bit, but we were nicely protected by Long Caye. For the morning dives, Tom and I went for a final deep dive to finish his deep diver specialty course. The rest of the divers enjoyed seeing the giant elephant ear sponge (9ft x 5ft - no joke) along the wall. For the afternoon and night dives we checked out Julie’s Jungle. The divers finished up the week of night dives with yet another great one - octopus, squid, large eye toad fish, lobster, crabs, lettuce sea slug and an unidentified yellow sea slug (we call it the Stanley Sea Slug).
Friday March 11th
…An early morning dive on Sandy Slope, a hot breakfast, then a final dive ended a fantastic week of diving. Once we arrived at the port, a few guests went on a tour to the Belize Zoo and Altun Ha. The other guests relaxed until our cocktail party at 6:00PM and a little award presentation for the following divers:
Iron Divers - Thomas, Matthew, Morgan
Milestone Divers - Melita (400), Kris (400)
Open Water Diver - Erica
PADI Enriched Air Diver - Morgan
PADI Deep Diver - Thomas
Saturday March 12th
…Well that’s the week folks and at 8:00AM the crew said their goodbyes as the guests departed the Beautiful Belize Aggressor III.
EAT, SLEEP, & DIVE!
