This week we happily & eagerly greeted our new family members from Usa , Australia and Japan a total of 7 guest , including the vice-president of The Aggresssor company , Larry and Phil and Craig which attended last week diving trip . After a welcome drink and being showed to their cabins everyone gathered in the dining area for the general boat briefing and introduction of the crew , while munching on our chefs exquisite mini pizzas and assortment of seasonal fruit . After setting up equipment and finishing some paperwork, they were free to visit the very mystical Port Ghalib at sunset hours. After our steak dinner it was time for a glass of local wine & off to bed.
Sunday 1th of May
Day 1 started in Port Ghaleb and continued in Marsa Shoona , and Shaab Abu Dabab . Ring bells at 7 am for our first breakfast on board . At 8:30 am we are ready to sail and start our northern itinerary diving the offshore reefs of Brothers Islands , Daedalus and Elphinstone reef . Weather forecast for the entire week is excellent with little and no wind . at 9:30 am it is time for our first dive. A check dive in the bay of Marsa Shoona , a diving location at only 45 min navigation from the marina of Port Ghalib . A crocodile and scorpion fish , school of yellow fin goat and butterfly fish . Time to sail to the local area of Shaab Abu Dabab . Shaab abu Dabab hosts one of the most beautiful coral garden of the entire Southern and northern itinerary .It will be later on considered one of the best dive by the australian guest , Phil . Massive coral formations of dome and mountain corals with an outstanding visibility. We score 4 dives today including a night dive .
Monday 2th of May
Day 2 started in Little Brother Island . We sail all night long to reach the offshore reefs of Brothers Islands . We moor in the south area of Little Brother island and it will be a glorious day of diving with the incredible spot of the Thresher shark and Manta Ray. The early morning dive is a boat to boat dive in the Gorgonia garden . Giant fan corals , school of curious cornet fishes and a school of colorful banner red sea fish . Time for a hot breakfast and at 10 am we are set to dive the North Plateau . The late morning and early afternoon dive are zodiac to zodiac dive . We descend along the North plateau reaching the max depth of 100 ft – 30 mt . Squat of tuna and giant trevallies and suddenly the silhouette of the thresher shark and immediately after the vision of a large Manta Ray . Definitely one of the most exciting dive of the entire diving trip . We score 4 divesa today including a late afternoon dive in the south plateau of the Litle Brother Island . At night we enjoy a dinner on the sundeck at sunset time .
Tuesday 3th of May
Day 3 started in Big Brother Island . Big Brother island is located only a mile away from Little Brother Island .The island stands out for his rocky profile and light house . Weather and sea conditions are excellent . Ring bells at 6 am and at 7 am we already splash the water. The early morning dive is a boat to zodiac dive . We visit the south plateau and east wall of the island . A couple of dolphins and a white tip oceanic shark entertain us at surface . Time for a hot breakfast. At 10:30 am we are set for a drift dive along the east wall . A thresher shark makes its appearance and we enjoy a colorful dive along the rich and colorful drop off wall. . The early afternoon and late afternoon dive are dedicated to dive the wrecks of Aida and Numidia . Location is the North Plateau of the island .A squat of giant tunas , large school of sardines and fusiliers fishes . We score 4 dives today.
Wednesday 4th of May
Day 4 started in Daedalus Reef. We sail all night to reach the southern location of our northern itinerary . Daedalus reef , one of the largest offshore reef of the entire Red Sea . It hosts all year long a school of hammerhead sharks and his reef represent the iconic image of wall diving . The early and late morning dive are dedicated to dive the northern side of the reef . In fact in this specific area of the reef we have more chances to spot them . Our expectation are met and our first dive it will be the favourite one of our Japanese guest Akiko . Imn fact we spend the dive with a squat of 4 hammerhead repeatedely surrounding our group of divers . Such an exciting dive . Late in the afternoon it is time to dive the local Anemone Garden and dive the South – west wall of the island .We score 4 dives today including a late afternoon dive in the south plateau where a silky shark make his appereance.
Thursday 5th of May
Day 5 started in Daedalus Reef . such a relaxing night of sleep safely moored in Daedalus reef . Ring bells at 6 am . time for a continental breakfast and dive briefing and at 7 am we are excited to dive the North Plateau looking for the hammerhead sharks . In fact we repeat the successful diving profile of yesterday diving and our expectation are met again . The elegant silouette of the hammerhead stands out within the blue water and soft rays of light . Time for a rewarding lunch and the early morning dive is a boat to zodiac dive . We drift along the west wall . A magnificent and massive formation of elephant ear coral is definitely the attraction of the dive . We score 4 dives today including the late afternoon dive in the south plateau.
Friday 6th of May
Day 6 started in Elphinstone Reef . We sail all night to reach early in the morning the famous reef of Elphinstone . The Elphinstone reef is definitely one the most beautiful reef of our itineraries with his outstanding and richful plateau and wall dives . Weather conditions are excellent . The first dive is dedicated to dive the North Plateau . This dive will be defined Wonderful by our American guest Craig and it will be his favorite one. We start the dive with a negative entry, face the current until we found a quiet spot to stare at the amazing underwater panorama , just on the edge on the plateau. Immense school of red anthias fishes with the contrast of the blue and deep water , a huge napoleon wrasse , a large school of black snapper and the vision of 2 grey reef shark. At the end of the dive we literally found our self immerse into thousands and thoiusands of fusiliers and sardine fishes . A couple of giant trevallies repeatedly attack the large school creating an incredible dinamyc movement of the entire school . The last dive is located in Marsa Shoona . It is time to sail back to Port Ghalib . At 6 pm we celebrate our Iron divers and open water certification.
