Dive Sites: Sandy Slope & Black Beauty
We spent the first day and a half on Turneffe Atoll, diving Sandy Slope for our morning dives and then headed South to Black Beauty for our afternoon and night dives. The first day set the tone for an exciting week of diving to come. We saw Eagle rays, turtles, Southern stingrays, a huge whip-tail stingray, several free swimming green morays, spotted morays, a yellow stingray, garden eels, razor fish, several jawfish (one with eggs), large groupers, scorpionfish, flounder, box crabs, and a pipehorse. We also found the white spotted toadfish that lives only on Turneffe Atoll.

Dive Sites: Front Porch & Cathedral
We continued our dives in the morning at Turneffe Atoll before motoring across to Lighthouse Reef to finish the day at Cathedral. It was an exciting day with some eel and shark action. First off, we found some more white spotted toadfish. Green morays were out swimming and hunting along the reef, and we saw a hawksbill feeding on sponges. There were squadrons of tarpon and schools of jacks, chubs, and sergeant majors hanging out under the boat. We saw 3 different Caribbean reef sharks, and they made several appearances throughout the dive. There were lots of neck crabs, skeleton shrimp, arrow blennies, and flamingo tongue on the wall. On the reef, we found 2 scorpionfish and several lettuce sea slugs, and a juvenile trunk fish. In the sand, we found flounder and a lined sole.

Dive Sites: Half Moon Caye Wall & Eagle Ray Pass
We had such amazing dives at Half Moon Caye Wall that we decided to do and extra one here in the afternoon, before heading to Eagle Ray Pass…where, by the way, we had an awesome dolphin encounter. The sharks were out and about today. We had several Caribbean reef sharks show up on the dive, we saw both hawksbill and loggerhead turtles, watched a half dozen Southern stingrays in the sand, got buzzed by Eagle rays, and played with friendly groupers. Later in the day, a pod of dolphins passed by some of the divers.

Dive Sites: Chain Wall & Long Caye Wall
The shark action continued today with some up close and personal Caribbean Reef shark encounters. We spent the entire dives with sharks, and also got visited by Eagle Rays, Southern stingrays, loggerhead turtles, barracuda, and groupers.

Dive Sites: Blue Hole & Long Caye Ridge
A couple weeks ago a few of our divers spotted a hammerhead shark in the Blue Hole…today, everyone got to see it! It was definitely one of the highlights of an amazing week of diving. Later in the day we saw some Caribbean reef sharks, green morays, scorpionfish, and schools of tarpon, jacks, and Creole wrasse.

Dive Sites: Nurse Shark Ridge & Silver Caves
One the last day of diving, the shark action continued with a single Caribbean reef shark. We also saw more hawksbill turtles and green morays, and an Eagle rays cruised by down the wall. On the reef the colourful fish were all hustling and bustling, and Creole wrasse buzzed by on the edge of the dropoff. There seemed to be countless black durgeons, Sergeant majors, trunkfish, blue chromis, and jacks swimming around. They were some beautiful dives to end of an amazing week. We had awesome diving and a lot of fun with our new friends. Looking forward to diving with you all again.
