After guest boarded the Belize Aggressor IV departed the Radisson Dock and made way to her first dive site off Long Caye Julies Jungle.
Sunday June 25th
Julies Jungle was our first stop to check buoyancy, camera equipment and start seeing a variety of Marine Life the diving in Belize has to offer. Some of what we encounter when diving Julies Jungle were Caribbean Spiny Lobsters, Juvenile Drums, Large Schools of Jacks, Chubs, Nurse Sharks and Spotted Eagle Rays. After enjoying a fantastic morning at Julies Jungle it was time to move to Eagle Ray Wall where we saw Huge Channel Clinging Crabs, Mackerel, Spotted and Green Moray Eels and Caribbean Reef Shark.
Monday June 26th
One of my favorite dive sites around Half Moon Cay is Half Moon Caye Wall. This wall is very colorful wall with a variety of tropical marine life to enjoy. Some of what we saw was Blennies, Flounders, Hamlets, Jacks, Mackerel, Loggerhead and Hawksbill Turtle, Spotted Eagle Rays and a Very Friendly Caribbean Reef Shark that would swim inches away from some of us. We ended the afternoon and night on Dos Chichas swimming with a huge school of Chubs under the vessel, Spotted Drums hiding under ledges of the reef, several Moray Eels, Lobsters and more Lobsters and to help finish a Nurse Shark became close friends our guest Dan.
Tuesday June 27th
Just off of the island of Half Moon Caye is an awesome dive site called Lighthouse Wall. While diving Lighthouse Wall we encountered Queen Triggerfish, Queen Angelfish, Mackerel, Porcupinefish, Loggerhead and Green Turtles and a Caribbean Reef Shark that would make quick pass-by near divers. A very colorful wall called Painted Wall was our afternoon and night dive site. As we swam near the top and just over the edge of the wall divers enjoyed Colorful Sponges and Corals as well as watching a school of Creole Wrasses swim down the wall giving the school a waterfall effect going over the wall. When we add in some other Marine Life like Shrimps, Crabs, Lobsters, Rays, Sharks and a couple of Turtles it made for a wonderful dive site.
Wednesday June 28th
I’ve always enjoyed diving Cathedral, swimming over and near a plethora of Hard and Soft Corals and Sponges. We also enjoyed Eels, Lobsters, Crabs, Oysters, Clams, Shrimp, Sharks and Turtles and Spotted Eagle Rays. Long Caye Wall was where we spend the afternoon and night enjoying a colorful reef and wall and diving with Rays, Lobsters, Huge Tarpon, Sharks, Turtles and Octopus.
Thursday June 29th
Silver Caves is where we enjoyed small Swim Thru’s and Canyons, Huge Barrel Sponges, Mackerel, Turtles, Sharks and a Beautiful Spotted Eagle Ray that just kept swimming close to divers. Long Caye Ridge was our last site of the day. Here we encountered Schools of Chubs, Jacks, Snappers, Channel Clinging Crabs, Stingrays, Nurse Sharks and Burrfish.
Friday June 30th
Sandy Slope was our last dive site of a fantastic week of diving on the Belize Aggressor IV. Some of the Marine Life we saw was Arrow Blennies, Decorator Crab, Big Roughtail Stingrays, Nassau and Tiger Groupers, Angelfish and Spotted Moray Eels.
