Okeanos Aggressor I

Guanacaste & The Bat Islands, Costa Rica

28 Sept - 5 Oct 2017

Water Temperature: 81 – Thermoclines 74

Visibility 40 ft.

We left the port of Puntarenas at noon, after an overnight crossing we got to Bahia Culebra where we dove Tortuga, Argentina and Virador. We saw White-tip reef sharks and schools of fish and sting rays to start the week. At night we dove Tortuga, it was a beautiful site with lots of octopus and thousands of little fish swiming around our lights.

Next day we moved the boat to the northern area of Cuajiniquil, we dove one day there doing sites as Black Coral where we have the opportunity to dive in shallow water a rock with beautiful black coral which makes it a great dive. I love this site and so did our guests

We also dove Punta Blanca and had an amazing night dive at Black Coral where we got to see several sea horses.

Third day we move the boat to the bat islands, it was time to see big stuff. We spent three days here diving sites such as the big scare where the bull sharks where very active, we saw about 5 different bulls on each dive and had amazing close encounters. We also had beautiful encounters with humpback whales On the surface! There was one particular dive where we finished our saftey stop and immediately at about 30 meters from us a humpback and its calf emerged. Bajo Negro was as usual with an incredible amount of schooling fishand lots of eagle rays that makes that dive an incredible one.

Last day we had a three hour crossing to Catalina Islands where we did our  last dive of the week, this was an amazing expuerience because humpback whales where close by and we had an "underwater concert" 50 minutes of our dice hearing whales sing was incredible!!

Thanks to all of our guests coming from the  Australia, México, Germany, Holland and the United States. This was truly a nice group which made it a great week we hope to see you soon!
