We made it to the island with good weather conditions ,crossing was easy and fast and we were on the island Monday morning. Next day we had breakfast and then we were ready to get in the water for the check dive in Chatham bay, this trip our group of wine divers was back and and we also had people from Austria, USA ,Argentina ,France and Costa Rica.
Manuelita island is the one we chose for the second and third dive with tons of hammerheads, tiger sharks were also every where facing us for the pictures and videos ,marble and eagle rays also everywhere. In the middle of Manuelita channel we got 12 feet whale shark super friendly with us.
Next day we got the chance to see a huge school of hammerhead shark at Punta Maria , very good surprise because this is the usual place to see the galapagos sharks so we were not expecting that many hammerheads.
When diving the cleaning station at Dirty Rock we were face to face with the Hammerheads non stop for 30 minutes, after we end up drifting in the blue water with at least 200 of them around us.
Alcyone was the place !!! with hammerheads all over the place, it is the exact vision all our guests are expecting, like a perfect shot of hundreds of hammerheads moving slowly in front of us!Not only we got that, but we also had the dolphins and yellow fin tunas going inside out onf the jackfish school , so the last minutes of that dive we spent it just seeing the jacks being chased and sometimes disappearing into the dolphin’s mouth.
Night dives were always full of action, lots of chasing as the white tip sharks went after any fish that stay in the open water ,tigers sharks and Galapagos sharks showed up in the night as well.
We did lots of diving in Manuelita, this place became in short time ,the place to be, it always had some exciting action , like the tiger sharks, which were in the deep and shallow dives, always present.
The last day Jari got 600 dives also Guenter was celebrating his birthday and at dinner time the chef Douglas cook up a delicious cake for them.
In general we had an excellent diving week and speaking with our gest they fill up all the expectation the had before they came to Cocos Island.
