20th November 2017

Dive 1: Pohon Kelapa

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: We started this trip off with a check-out dive at Wowoni Island at a sloping reef called Pohon Kelapa.

Special marine life: Banded sea snakes, nudibranchs, great barracuda.

Dive 2: Menara Putih

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive was another beautifully covered coral reef slope called Menara Putih.

Special marine life: leaf scorpion fish, nudibranchs, banded sea snake.

 

 

21th November 2017

Dive 1: Roma

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our first dive in the Wakatobi National Park was at one of the signature dive sites called Roma. A submerged reef that is home to large schools of barracuda.

Special marine life: schooling barracuda, banded sea snake, octopus.

Dive 2: Collo Soha Beach

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive was a nice wall dive over at Collo Soha Beach. a steep wall dropping to about 15meters after which a gentle sandy reef slope starts.

Special marine life: leaf scorpionfish, green turtles, nudibranchs.

Dive 3: Teluk Waitii

Time in: 14:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: our third dive was yet again around Tomia Island at a dive site called Teluk Waiiti. Like most dive sites in Wakatobi another steep slope/wall dive.

Special marine life: candy crab, nudibranchs, hawksbill turtles.

Dive 4: Pantai Waitii

Time in: 18:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our night dive was on a sandy reef slope called Pantai Waitii.

Special marine life: decorator crabs, leaf scorpion fish, wasp fish.

 

 

22nd November 2017

Dive 1: Fan 38 West

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: We began our day diving at the stunning wall dive called Fan 38. A steep wall covered with hundreds of sea fans of all shapes and sizes.

Special marine life: denise pygmy seahorse, schooling batfish, great barracuda.

Dive 2: Spiral Corner

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive was a gentle drift dive called Spiral Corner. We drifted over a beautiful shallow coral reef covered in a variety of reef fish.

Special marine life: green turtles, crocodile fish, nudibranchs.

Dive 3: Table Coral City

Time in: 14:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our third dive of the day was again at a submerged reef called Table Coral City. Upon entering the water we were surrounded by large numbers of fuseliers, jacks and giant trevally.

Special marine life: giant trevally, denis pygmy seahorse, common seahorse.

Dive 4: Dunia Baru

Time in: 18:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our night dive was on a reef slope next to the jetti called Dunia Baru.

Special marine life: wasp fish, leaf scorpionfish, candy crab.

 

 

23rd November 2017

Dive 1: Fan 38 East

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: This morning we began diving at the eastern side of the dive site Fan 38.

Special marine life: lots of green turtles, nudibranchs, black tip reef shark.

Dive 2: Starship

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive was on the western side of Sawa at a dive site called starship. Beautiful formations of soft corals and large coral ridges make this for one very colourful dive site.

Special marine life: green turtles, cuttlefish, pygmy seahorse.

Dive 3: Sawa Utara

Time in: 14:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our last dive in the Wakatobi National Park was probably the best one and was over at Sawa Utara.

Special marine life: schooling batfish, lots and lots of green turtles, pygmy seahorses and black tips.

 

 

24th November 2017

Dive 1: Karang Komba

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: We began our day diving at the Komba Volcano. A dramatic change of scenery after diving Wakatobi for 3 days.

Special marine life: white tips, nudis, moray eels.

Dive 2: Tanjung Komba

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive of the day was a stunning wall dive with large numbers of reef fish all around.

Special marine life: giant trevally, moray eels, leaf scorpion fish.

Dive 3: West Komba

Time in: 14:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: dive three was on a black sandy reef slope with huge coral boulders all over the place covered in beautiful corals and home to lots of small reef fish.

Special marine life: black tips, candy crab, leaf scorpionfish.

Dive 4: Tanjung Komba

Time in: 18:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: dive four was a sunset dive on another sandy reef slope.

Special marine life: blue dragon nudibranchs, leaf scorpion fish, nudis.

 

 

25th November 2017

Dive 1: Yan Village

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: We began our day diving on a black sand reef slope. Here we where hoping to find rhinopias and frogfish.

Special marine life: rhinopias, leaf scorpion fish and a variety of nudis.

Dive 2: The Boardroom

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive was on a stunning slloping reef called The Boardroom. Clouds of anthias, schooling batfish and spotted eagle rays are regularly seen here.

Special marine life: eagle rays, schooling batfish, leaf scorpion fish.

Dive 3 & 4: Mucky Mosque

Time in: 14:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: The third and night dive were at the famous dive site called Mucky Mosque. A black sand reef loaded with critters everywhere.

Special marine life: coleman shrimp, zebra crab, thorny seahorse, frogfish, bobtail squid, cuttlefish and lots more....

 

 

26th November 2017

Dive 1: Holly Grail

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: This morning we arrived in the Beangabang Bay were we started of diving on the outer coral reef called the Holly Grail.

Special marine life: frogfish, leaf scorpion fish, octopus.

Dive 2: Beangabang Bay

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive was a black sand dive in the Beangabang Bay which is home to a lot of very special critters.

Special marine life: purple, red & orange rhinopias, frogfish, cuttlefish, ambon scorpionfish, pipehorse.

Dive 3: Clownfish Valley

Time in: 14:30. Water temperature: 23°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: After the second dive we left the Beangabang Bay and moved back to Pura island to dive Clownfish Valley.

Special marine life:

Dive 4: Mucky Mosque

Time in: 18:15. Water temperature: 26°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our night dive was yet again at Mucky Mosque.

Special marine life: frogfish, thorny seahorse, robust & ornate ghostpipe fish, bob tail squids.

 
 

27th November 2017

Dive 1: Bacatan Wall

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Early this morning we arrived at Bacatan. Our first dive was a wall dive that is covered in black corals.

Special marine life: ghostpipe fish, green turtles, white tips.

Dive 2: Tanjung Bacatan

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our second dive was at Tanjung Bacatan, the corner of the reef that usually has a bit more current and offers large schools of fish.

Special marine life: Giant trevally, green turtles, napoleon wrasse.

Dive 3: Bacatan Village

Time in: 14:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: The third dive was in the Bacatan Bay in front of the village. A black sand reef slope with large coral boomies.

Special marine life: lobsters, nudibranchs, sidegill slugs

Dive 4: Bacatan Village

Time in: 18:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: The night dive was at the same place only this time we didn’t dive the reef but just the sand.

Special marine life: ornate ghost pipefish, bobtail squid, cuttlefish, frogfish.

 

 

 

 

28th November 2017

Dive 1: Pulau Babi

Time in: 07:15. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: We began our day diving at Pulau Babi, a steep reef slope with excellent corals.

Special marine life: white tips, moray eels, nudis.

Dive 2: Peangabatang

Time in: 10:30. Water temperature: 29°C. Visibility: Good, 25 metres.

Dive report: Our last dive of this trip was at Peangabatang, a stunning reef part wall here and there some overhang and finished the dive in a beautiful hard coral garden in the shallows.
