Saturday, December 2nd
In the afternoon between 3pm – 4pm we welcomed all guests aboard with a fresh squeezed fruit cocktail. Everyone is prepping their equipment, cameras and making themselves comfortable in the cabins. After a snack, cruise director Timo gave the general Safety & Boat briefing. We then enjoyed a delicious dinner. Tonight we are staying in the harbor until departure early on Sunday morning.
Sunday, December 3rd
We are ready for a wonderful day with 4 dives coming up. It’s calm weather and our guests are curious about what they will encounter in the Oman waters. The Diving safety and procedures briefing is done and we start with the checkout dive. A lot of marine life everywhere during this dive. Moray eels, different nudibranchs, and giant cuttlefish were just a few sightings. For Lunch we have chicken Fajitas with fresh guacamole. For the third dive and final fourth dive (a night dive) we decided ‘Hamdis Block’ where the mothership moors direct on the spot and we dive from the Platform. At this time a few divers were lucky and saw a group of 15 eagle rays passing by! Two divers enjoyed the night dive. Once they return, we start moving over night to the Hallaniyat Islands.
Monday, December 4th
We arrive at Hasikiyah Island and arrive at ‘Coral Bay’ as our first dive. Such a beautiful wall to drift on. Healthy Coral and plenty of fish all over, some pelagics passed by out of the blue. At the ‘Cave Site’ we spotted a small turtle, an eagle ray and some groupers around. After Lunch we do another dive at ‘Coral Bay’. For the fourth and the night dive we move to the other side of the island to our ‘Aquarium’. Today’s Dinner will be Salmon with Lemon Butter and Pastry, Chef Salah offers some Chocolate Marquise for dessert.
Tuesday, December 5th
Early morning at 2am we leave for Al Qibliyah Island where we will spend the day of diving. The first dive will be around ‘Al Qibliyah Rock’ where all guests enjoyed the dive with good visibility. We moved the mothership for a few minutes and moored in a small bay. From here, we feel the winds a bit less and go out by tender to the second dive. A marbled shrimp was spotted and some cute puffer fish. Our guests are enjoyed lunch and a nap. Next, we are going to dive from the platform at a site called ‘Canal Garden’. We saw huge green turtles and a massive porcupine fish during the afternoon dive. The night dive is under the boat and everywhere were big red crabs! We also saw some little cuttlefish and an octopus. We are staying on the spot during the night and will move in the morning towards ‘Schmies’ Island.
Wednesday, December 6th
The first dive this morning is ‘Schmies Fingers’ and we can dive from the platform. We enjoyed a Hot Breakfast with hashbrowns and Veal Sausage before we are heading for our second dive at ‘Gotta Schmiess’. A little bit of current but an awesome site where we saw lots of potato groupers and an eagle ray. As winds are forecasted for the night we decided to move to the south side of Al Sawda Island and on the way we have our third dive at ‘Fish Highway’. Overnight we stay in a calm bay with some dramatic views of the Island. After tonight’s dinner, our Pastry Chef Salah presented a special cake for Pierrette to welcome her to the Seven Seas Explorers Club. Congratulations for completing Aggressor Fleet Cruises in 7 different Seas!
Thursday, December 7th
Winds calm down and we move to the other side of Al Sawda for the two morning dives. Under the platform we dive at ‘Al Sawda - Coral Garden’ and our lovely Batfish are awaiting the divers. ‘Al Farsha’ which means ‘carpet’ is a nice plateau just a quick ride with the Tender away. Both dives were enjoyable for everyone and we had good visibility. During lunchtime we are moving back to Al Hasikiyah as we had requests to dive the ‘Aquarium’ again. So third dive and night dive are set. We enjoyed the Chef’s Turkey Feast and time for a glass of wine before we show this week’s trip recap movie edited by Shaker. Now it’s time to move back to Mirbat where we will have our last 2 dives for this week.
Friday, December 8th
6:45 we ring the bell and the briefing for the ‘Marriott Wreck’ dive is held. The visibility is nice so our guests had best circumstances to shoot great wide-angle pics. We are moving a bit further for the last dive to ‘Ra’s Mirbat’ and as usual it offers one of the top dives during a trip with the Oman Aggressor. Now it’s time to have lunch and get a rest while we go back to the marina. At our cocktail Party this evening, we enjoyed reviewing the week and as well presented some Awards for everyone. Congratulations to: Woody for completing all available dives during his two weeks back to back with us. A real Iron Diver. Hans, Christine and Pierrette for earning an Addict Award. Milestones go to Susanne for completing her 200th dive and Michael completing his 150th dive this week with us. And the Best Dive Team Award goes to Karel, Marcin, Bruno & Rafa. For Dinner our guest enjoyed a local selection of Fish & Seafood along with some quality Wines at our recommended restaurant ‘AsSamak’ in the Marina.
We had a beautiful week with nice dives with a lot of fish and awesome guests.
