Sunday January 7th
The guests arrived at the airport at 4pm. They received cold towels and welcoming drinks on the boat, with a briefing for the boat and dives for the week. Guests got acquainted with each other and explored the boat before dinner.
Monday January 8th
Guests were up early to set up equipment. The weather was a beautiful 30° C, with water temperature at 28° C and calm. The first dive at Fish Factory was amazing, with 35 meters of visibility, moray eels and schools of remoras, banner fish and triggerfish. Check dives were performed for guests to get familiar with their equipment and weighting. The second dive at Kuda Giri Wreck again had amazing visibility, with a turtle on the wreck and plenty of pipefish. Divers took a short break before the third dive, lunch served, little nap, and drift dive with some White tips on the channel. Ended the evening with a local island visit and dinner under the stars at the boat deck.
Tuesday January 9th
We dived the channels of Guraidhoo , Cocoa and Miyaru with plenty of pelagic action , sharks , some Eagle rays , napoleons , and completed the day with a frenetic night dive under Alimatha jetty with dozens of nurse sharks , busy jacks and friendly sting rays around surprised divers.
Wednesday January 10th
After a couple of channel dives with plenty of grey reef sharks and pelagic action sailed west to Ari atoll arriving for an afternoon dive at Machchafushi wreck and reef , plenty of fish life , a couple of nurse sharks , lion fish , jacks and a Green moray eel on the deck.
Thursday January 11th
Dived first time in the morning the colorful thila of Kudah Rah with hundreds of yellow blue striped snappers , some White tips , potato groupers and blue Jack trevallys chasing the fusiliers.
A couple of dives searching the whale shark who did not show up (till next day) and a lovely night dive in Ariyadhoo with a huge turtle , some cuttlefish and plenty of macro , dinning on the deck with great weather.
Friday January 12th
Great manta action at Rangali manta región ; spectacular dances of several mantas at the cleanning stations , clear wáter , shallow dive , ideal to make photos and videos of these elegant creature … also a silver tip and a WHALE SHARK for some of the fortunate guests deep in the blue.
Rah Digga thila to end the day before going down to bbq island for a pretty sunset and a delicious barbecue dinner on the beach.
Saturday January 13th
Delicious dives at Moofushi with the usual manta activity plus some sharks at the Sandy bottom , a yellow leaf fish and the colorful reef snappers , sweetlips and the baby Eagle ray playing with divers .
Nice landscpae dive at Degga with the pinacle formations , black coral forest , snapers and the shallow top reef where anthias and clown fish on their anemones made the after great for our divers.
Ended the dive day with a night dive at the reef nearby the thila with a nice turtle and some more cuttlefish , dinning in as some wind was blowing.
Sunday January 14th
Little sailing to next destination , in central Ari atoll , Mushimas thila , great dive with grey reef sharks , plenty of jacks hunting , upo to 4 turtles eating on the plateau … followed by Hafza and Maaya thila , nice landscaped pinacles , White tips , some Grey reef sharks , turtles , Stone fish and a sting ray , wich will be revisite don the night dive with frenetic giant trevally hunters as main highlight plus the White tips and the funny sting ray following dive lights.
Monday January 15th
We moved this time to Baathala , thila first and channel second ; many grey reef sharks on both dives , school of silver jacks , platax , tunas , napoleon just to name a few , lunch and sailing to Little Rasdoo atoll to dive Madivaru beru with some more sharks and specially the garden eels , a great napoleon and plenty of fish life on reef plateau.
Ended the windy day having a swim to the sand bank and dinning on board.
Tuesday January 16th
Early morning dive in search of the shy hammerheads wich will not show up but ended on the shallow reef with some reef sharks , mostly juvenile grey reef , some tunas as well … and last of the 30 dives of this trip on Madivaru beru , simply great , with many sharks , lots of Eagle rays , jacks and tunas , napoleon , groupers and the colorful sweet lips on reeftop while doing the safety stop.
Sailing back to Male atoll under good sea conditions ,visit to Male and last dinner on board followed by the toast , award presentation and video of the week.
Wednesday January 17th
Breakfast , check out and transfer to Male airport to end this first 10 day trip.
