Saturday August 10th

It was a sunny and breezy afternoon as guest boarded the Belize Aggressor IV for a week of diving, Turneffe Caye, Long Caye, Hat Caye and Half Moon Caye, Belize.

Sunday August 11th

It was beautiful sunrise as the Belize Aggressor IV departed her homeport at the Radisson Marina and made way to our first dive site called Amberhead located just off Turneffe Caye.  During the first dive of the week we are checking diving equipment, buoyancy, and camera gear.  While making sure all that gear and weights were correct we encountered a variety of Marine Life, like Jawfish with Eggs, Schooling Cero Mackerel, Squat Anemone Shrimp, Caribbean Whip Stingray, Channeling Clinging Crabs and Free Swimming Green Moray Eel.  As everyone enjoyed a wonderful lunch prepared by Chef Carlos we made our way to Hat Caye and the dive site Hat Caye Wall.  Some of what we enjoyed while diving Hat Caye Wall was Rough Fileclams, Princess Parrotfishes, Groupers, Snappers, Neck Crabs, Spotted Moray Eels, Reef Shark, Octopus and Squids.

Monday August 12th

Half Moon Caye Wall was the first stop today swimming along side Staghorn Corals, Mounts of Brain Corals, Colorful Sea Whips, Friendly Nassau Groupers, Sailfin Blennies, Flounders, Caribbean Reef Sharks and Spotted Eagle Ray.  After lunch we stopped at Julies Jungle where we encountered Spotted and Green Moray Eels, Scrawled Cowfish, Peppermint Gobies, Blackcap Basslets, Caribbean Reef and Nurse Sharks, Squids and Octopus.

Tuesday August 13th

Angelfish Wall located just off Half Moon Caye was the first site of the day.  We saw Friendly Groupers, Queen and Ocean Triggerfishes, Hawksbill Turtle, Spotted Eagle Rays, Nurse Sharks and a couple of Very Friendly Caribbean Reef Sharks that would come in for a closer look.  Our afternoon and night was exploring Long Caye Wall seeing, Spotted Moray Eels, Free Swimming Green Moray Eel, Caribbean Spiny and Spotted Lobsters, Drums, Feeding tarpons, Spotted Eagle Ray, Caribbean Reef Sharks and Nurse Sharks.  During the night dive both the Nurse and Reef Sharks was swimming cruising the coral heads close to us giving the divers a wonderful close up look.  Add some Squid and Octopus and it was a Wonderful Way to end an Awesome Day of Diving.

Wednesday August 14th

Another trip out to Half Moon Caye to the dive site Chain Wall where we enjoyed, Queen Triggerfish, Caribbean Spiny Lobsters, Southern and Roughtail Stingrays, Blushing Star Corals, Devil’s Sea Whips, Sea Plumes, a variety of Angelfish and Caribbean Reef Sharks coming in for a very close look at divers.  Our next stop on this week of exploring underwater around Belize is Dos Chichas.  Due to the mooring situation here, it has been a while since we have spent time underwater at this dive site.  However the mooring is now good and it’s time again to spend a few hours underwater at Dos Chichas.  Just some of the Marine Life seen was Corky Sea Fingers, Huge Barrel Sponges, Yellowhead Jawfish with Eggs, Mantis Shrimp, Caribbean Reef Shark and Green Moray Eel swimming next to each other.  However the show of the day maybe week was as a few guest entered the water a couple of Bottlenose Dolphins swam near them.  The perfect way to end an excellent day underwater.

Thursday August 15th

On our last full day of diving we visited two Amazing Dive Sites Called Aquarium and Quebrada.  Just some of the Marine Life we saw while diving these Colorful Wall and Wonderful Sea Gardens were Huge Schools of Créole Wrasses, Spotted and Green Moray Eels, Neck Crabs, Caribbean Spiny and Spotted Lobsters, Hawksbill Turtles, Caribbean Reef and Nurse Sharks, Squids, Octopus and Dolphins!  Yes that’s correct at both dive site we had a visit by a small pod of Dolphins that would come in for a close look at some of the divers.  It was a Very Nice Day!!

Friday August 16th

Our final dives took place on the West Side of Turneffe Caye at the dive site called Sandy Slope.  While underwater we saw lots of Juvenile Shrimps, Crabs, Fishes and some bigger things like Southern and Roughtail Stingrays, Free Swimming Moray Eels.  One of our guest said it best, “this was a great way to finish the week”!
