“StormCheck” Policy
Aggressor Fleet expects passengers to have a safe and
fun dive vacation as they leave their worries at home.
We understand that our guests take their vacation time
seriously. A tropical storm that develops into a hurricane
can make the seas rough everywhere, adversely affecting
valuable dive time. This is why Aggressor Fleet has developed
a “StormCheck” policy
for the storm season (June 1st through November 30th).
This policy will compensate guests who lose days of diving
on Aggressor Fleet charters as a result of a named tropical
storm or hurricane.
Any guest whose trip is interrupted as a result of a
named tropical storm or hurricane will receive a credit
of equal value based on the number of days of diving
missed and price paid. If passengers are denied one or
more days of diving due to these conditions, they will
receive a credit, in the form of a “StormCheck” voucher
for each day missed. If the entire charter week is cancelled
in advance due to a storm’s predicted path and
landfall as forecasted by NOAA, guests will receive a “StormCheck” voucher
for the amount paid to return to that destination within
one year of the interrupted trip. The StormCheck applies to passengers who do not receive compensation from their trip insurance carrier.
All Aggressor Fleet franchises have comprehensive storm
plans. Before the start of the storm and hurricane season,
Aggressor Fleet franchisees are reminded to train and
test all crewmembers’ skill and knowledge of storm
procedures using mock demonstrations to prepare them
for the real thing. Aggressor Fleet franchisees are required
to monitor the NOAA website (www.noaa.gov)
daily and to keep appraised of information on local weather
broadcasts and government information services. If weather
forecasts or conditions appear threatening to the safety
of the passengers and crew, the captain will make necessary
arrangements to evacuate guests. The captain will order
and arrange for guests to be removed from the vessel,
accompanied by a crew member and taken to an inland resort/hotel
or government approved shelter. The vessel will be moved
to a sheltered harbor away from the storm’s predicted
path, prepared and secured by the remaining crew.
Aggressor Fleet has been exploring the world since 1984
and to date can boast that less than a handful of times
has a storm procedure been necessary. Aggressor Fleet
has established these storm plans and procedures for
the safety and comfort of Aggressor Fleet guests. |
