…15 guests from the USA and Switzerland joined us for a fun filled week of diving aboard the beautiful Belize Aggressor III. Guests were greeted dock side around 4:00PM. Scuba equipment setup and each guest shown to their cabins. We had our welcome aboard briefing and champagne toast at 5:30PM.
Sunday Jan 18th
…We started our diving at Turneffe Islands Atoll and what a great way to start the week off. DOLPHINS!!!, eagle rays, spotted toadfish, turtles, lions and tigers oh my - no tigers but everything else was seen.
Monday Jan 19th
…With the weather conditions remaining the same, we continued our diving at Turneffe. Giant channel clinging crab, octopus, squid, more spotted eagle rays, lettuce sea slug, several neck crabs hanging out on the soft gorgonians and a few tobacco fish laying low in the sand channels.
Tuesday Jan 20th
…We awoke to the Island of Half Moon Caye on Lighthouse Reef Atoll. Sitings included a few caribbean reef sharks, a big nurse shark, a chill hawks bill turtle, red banded coral shrimp, spotted drum, plentiful blue parrot fish, goat fish milling around in the sand, along with razor fish, and thousands of garden eels.
Wednesday Jan 21st
…Weather was right, so off to the Great Blue Hole!!! One dive to the depths and back up to the shallows. After everyone checked in and showered, we motored to Half Moon Caye and visited the more than 4000 birds on this protected island. Afterword cheeseburgers in paradise were served up, a nice siesta, then back to the diving.
Thursday Jan 22nd
…More great diving, this time over at Painted Wall and Silver Caves near the island of Long Caye. Green morays, sharks, eagle rays, turtles see photos, black grouper, nassau grouper, lots of moon jellyfish, great visibility, and an awesome sunset see photos.
Friday Jan 23rd
…Our first dive was a dawn dive at 6:00AM. The divers went in, flashlights in hand and around 6:30AM the sun began to light the reef. Night time critters slipped off to bed and the daytime critters began moving about. The sargassum trigger fish - while shy - moved in and out of the corals beneath the BAIII. Spotted eagle rays zipped by and a lazy hawks bill showed up to let everyone know he was awake too. Once breakfast was finished, divers went back in for a second dive before we packed up and headed back to Belize City.
…After arriving port, a few guests went cave tubing and checked out the Belize zoo. We had our wine & cheese party and reflected on the week of great diving. The guests had dinner out on the town and retired for the evening.
Congratulations to Heidi for completing her PADI Enriched Air Diver course.
Saturday Jan 24th
…The guests departed the vessel at 8:00AM, some returning home others spending more time in Belize. From all of us on the Belize Aggressor III, thank you for joining us!
