Saturday Jan 24th

…18 guests from the USA, Germany, Austria, and Canada joined us for a fun filled week of diving aboard the beautiful Belize Aggressor III. Guests were greeted dock side around 3:00PM. Scuba equipment setup and each guest shown to their cabins. We had our welcome aboard briefing and champagne toast at 5:30PM. Dinner was served up and for desert we celebrated Bobbies birthday - delicious cake!

Sunday Jan 25th

…We began our week of diving on Turneffe Islands Atoll. The weather was nice - a little windy, but normal for this time of year. The skies clear with plenty of sun for those partaking in warming their bodies on our sun deck. Visibility was excellent 100+ along the walls. Sitings of Eagle Rays, Spotted toadfish, and even Dolphins on the second dive! DM Fermin found a free swimming seahorse during the night dive - cool cool cool!

Monday Jan 26th

…Based on the weather conditions - still sunny - we stayed on the Southeast side of Turneffe for two dives on the famous Elbow. Free swimming green morays, large channel clinging crabs, and more eagle rays. For the afternoon, we motor an hour to the Northeast to a dive site called Grand Bogue. Everyone really enjoyed the towering coral formations, sandy areas home to the garden eels & peacock flounders, the wall that drops to over 1,000ft (304m), and all the cool critters in between. Several spotted morays, hogfish, and a few sail fin blennies were seen during the dives. After the night dive we motored over to Lighthouse Reef Atoll to see what Tuesday would offer.

Tuesday Jan 27th

…Fun was had by all; diving with caribbean reef sharks, eagle rays, and southern stingrays at Half Moon Caye Wall. A nice nurse shark and a couple octopus were seen at Shark Point. The day was filled with clear skies and warm sun. The night dive encounters included: tarpon, octopus, spotted moray eels, porcupine puffer, lobsters, and various crabs out hunting the reef wall.

Wednesday Jan 28th

…We took a break from diving and headed over to the island of Half Moon Caye. The cool breeze made for a nice relaxing stroll. Magnificent Frigate and Red Footed Boobie birds where seen nesting and gliding through the sky. To finish out the morning we dove Inspiration on the East side of Long Caye. A little quiet, but 100+ visibility. A few groupers, spotted drums, neck crabs on the gorgonians, and tobacco fish in the sand channels. For the afternoon and night dive we stayed near Half Moon Caye. Large logger head turtle, blue parrot fish, razorfish, sail-fin bennies, southern stingrays, great barracuda, and Bud captured a nice shot of a smooth trunk fish. After dinner we celebrated Susans birthday with a beautifully decorated cake by Vanessa, Monique, and Analisa!

Thursday Jan 29th

…The winds switched direction allowing us to motor North to the Blue Hole. For the afternoon and night dive we cruised the walls on the West side of Lighthouse Reef. Mild swell from the North provided great visibility and nice sitings. A couple caribbean reef sharks and eagle rays off the wall. A flurry of activity in the shallows as critters and fish moved about beneath the beautifully sun lit water.

Friday Jan 30th

…The divers slipped into the water at 6:00AM for a dawn dive. Sitings included a small nurse shark, large loggerhead turtle, scorpion fish, a barrel sponge condominium full of lobsters, a caribbean reef shark cruising the depths, a few groupers and barracuda hovering over the reef. We made one more dive after breakfast, then made the journey back to port.

…After arriving port, a few guests enjoyed a massage dock side. Others relaxed until our wine & cheese party. During which, we presented a few awards:

Iron Divers - Jeff and Bud

Enriched Air Diver - Kristin

Best Dive Team - Bobbie and Rob

Milestone Diver - Paula (200th)

Saturday Jan 31st

…The guests departed the vessel at 8:00AM, most returning home others spending more time in Belize. Well that does it, another great week of diving in Belize. So, from all of us on the Belize Aggressor III - EAT SLEEP & DIVE!
