This trip started a little late as we had to wait for high tide to come out of the harbor, arrived to the island just on time to make the first dive then from there it all came easy, the top water conditions and weather were close to perfect this trip, Underwater currents were easy like if you were diving in a swimming pool.

The dives were good at the beginning of the trip then they improved for the better towards the end, hammerhead sharks, eagle rays, marble rays and white tip sharks were the main part of the menu the first two days, not to mention the close encounter we had with the tiger shark on our third dive! that very first day of diving, actually both dive teams had that same sight which means we had more than one tiger shark on the same area. I was photographing this marble ray on the sandy area when a 14 foot tiger shark came right up to me I was able to click my camera few times before the tiger disappeared into the blue water, I lost it and turned away from it just to realized the tiger was coming back swimming my way so I had another chance to get my settings right for the picture…

We went around to most of the dives sites; at least the best ones. The arch in submerged rock was incredible so full of fish, Alcyone had some action but not what we were looking for, so we made it to Dirty Rock. there we found the hammerhead sharks in big quantities, Dirty Rock was by far the best hammerhead shark of the week, so much we did it the last three days and we never had enough of it. Dont get me wrong there were places like Punta Maria with tons of Galapagos sharks, Small Dos Amigos with the whale shark, Big Dos Amigos with the arch full of fish and a mobula ray on our safety stop, but our guests are always looking for hammerheads…

This week our guest were easy going, lot of fun and most of all in full understanding of Mother Nature.

We had amazing dives, adrenaline pumping thru the veins and a variety of fish that made them smile! This week we had everything the island has to offer, whale shark, tiger shark, Galapagos shark, white tip sharks hunting on the night dives, silky shark, even dolphin in one of the submerged rock dives, Mobulas, marble ray, and a huge Manta ray on our very last day of diving on our very last dive at Manuelita; My old favorite. It has been a long time since a have seen a manta that size, it must be a 20 foot from wing tip to wing tip, our guest love the diving, the sites are awesome and we are here waiting for the next group.

See ya

Stay tune for more
