Saturday March 28th
This week we welcomed aboard a Multinational Group from United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, and USA on the Kona Aggressor ll. We picked everyone up from the Kona Pier Saturday evening and headed out to the mooring for dinner and a briefing. We came up with a plan for the week and headed to bed so we could be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning!
Sunday March 29th
The Kona Aggressor ll headed south to Driftwood for its first two dives. After a check out dive everyone was great ! The group explored the lave tube and caves where they saw Spotted Box Fish, Spotted Puffer, Dragon Wrasse, Strawberry Nudibranch, and an Octopus. Next, We headed further south to Robs Reef for the last three dives of the day. The group was lucky to see Decoy Scorpion Fish, Dragon Wrasse, and a Henshaw Snake Eel! During the night dive the guest saw loads of Decoy Scorpion Fish, Sculptured Slipper Lobster, Spiny Lobster and the Henshaw Snake Eel again.
Monday March 30th
Early in the morning we continued further south to Peles Playground for our first two dives. The talk on the dive deck afterwards was of Long Handed Lobster, Red Spotted Nudibranch, Tinkers Butterfly Fish, Tear Drop Butterfly Fish, Octopus, Stout Moray, Snowflake Moray, Gold Laced Nudibranch, Strawberry Nudibranch, Zebra Flatworm, and a Turtle. Next, We headed south to Manuka Bay for the last dives of the day. On dive three and four our guest saw Great Barracuda, Hellers Barracuda, and a Dragon Moray! On the night dive they saw a Cusk Eel, Jewled Anemone Crab, and a Convex Crab eating a Collector Urchin.
Tuesday March 31st
Tuesday morning we began our journey back towards Kona to Land of Oz for our first dive. What our guest recalled was Tufted Lobster, Spotted Boxfish, Octopus, and a White Patch Razor Wrasse. Next, We headed to the Hive for our last dives of the day. The high lights of the dive were Yellow Margin Moray, Red Spotted Nudibranch, Hawaiian Red Lion Fish, Titan Scorpion Fish, and an Octopus. On the night dive our guest recalled seeing Sculptured Slipper Lobster, Marbled Shrimp, Regal Slipper Lobster, and Decoy Scorpion Fish.
Wednesday April 1st
At first sunlight the Kona Aggressor ll headed north to Au Au Crater for the first dive. Our guest really enjoyed the dramatic underwater topography of the crater and the odd Long Handed Lobsters they observed on their dive. Next, We Headed to Paradise Pinnacle for dive two. Our guest were fortunate enough to see Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Red Stripe Pipe Fish, Cusk Eel, Golden Green Gobys, Long Nose Hawk Fish, Peacock Razor Wrasse and an Octopus! While having a delicious meal prepared by Chef Matt the Kona Aggressor ll headed north to the Dome and saw a Crown of Thorns battle a Tritons Trumpet, two Frog Fish, Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Peacock Razor Wrasse, White Tip Reef Shark, and a Manta! Next, We headed to Manta Ville For the last two dives of the day. Our guest were lucky to have Mantas on both dives with a spectacular show put on for them.
Thursday April 2nd
Early in the morning the Kona Aggressor ll head north to Turtle Pinnacle for dive one and two. The talk after the dives was of Chocolate Dipped Chromis, Square Spot Goat Fish, Puffer Fish, Red Stripe Pipe Fish, Scrawled File Fish, Sea Star Shrimp, Rock Mover Wrasse, and an Octopus. Dive three was at the Aquarium and our guest enjoyed going through Suck Em Up and finding Spiky Sea Cucumber, Rock Mover Wrasse, and Undulated Moray. The Kona Aggressor ll started its way back south to Kalokos Arches for the last dives of the day. The group really enjoyed swimming through the many arches and channels while finding Eels and Spotted Box Fish. On the night dive the high lights were Gum Drop Nudibranch, Octopus, Ridge Back Lobster, Decoy Scorpion Fish and Seven Eleven Crab.
Friday April 3rd
The Kona Aggressor II finished out the week at Old Airport and our divers were serenaded by Humpback while staring off the slope hoping one might come by. The highlights on the dive was Gold Laced and Red Spotted Nudibranch, Octopus, Manta, and a Shark!
Saturday April 4th
We droped our guest off at the pier in Kona and said our farewells to our international friends this week. Congratulation to our Iron Divers Heather, John and Greg. Thanks again for joining us this week we had a lot of fun with you aboard the Kona Aggressor ll. We hope to see you again soon!
