Monday, 6th April

With great excitement we welcomed

11 of our 12 guests onboard the

Komodo Dancer. Sadly Eric’s flight

was cancelled due to a tropical storm

and we will pick him up tomorrow

once he arrives in Labuan Bajo. Our

Tuesday, 7th April

With great excitement we headed to

Sebayor Island the location of our

check out dive. Unfortunately due to

a tropical storm and extreme weather

we were forced to cancel diving and

we headed south in hope of better


Wednesday, 8th April

Visibility: 15-20

Having made it south and to some

clear warm weather it was with great

excitement we geared up for our

check out dive at Lahsera. Highlights

included White tip reef sharks, turtles

and a marble ray.

During our second breakfast we

moved to the southernmost point of

Komodo island to a bay known as

Langkoi. The location of our next 2

dives and we were all hoping to see

some Manta’s.

Nobody was disappointed the Manta’s

were absolutely everywhere making it

a most memorable dive. Other

highlights were stunning corals,

bumphead parrotfish and incredible

After our third dive of the day we

headed back to Lahsera as tonight we

will dive the phinisi wreck. Highlights

included bobtail squid, strawberry

nudibranchs, octopus and


Thursday, 9th April

Air Temp: 30

Water Temp: 24-27

Visibility: 10-15

In the early hours of the morning we

left Lahsera and made the crossing to

Nusakode. A bay situated on the

south of Rinja Island.

Our first dive of the day was at

Cannibal Rock a great submerged

pinnacle full of life. Highlights included

a baby turtle, scorpionfish, frogfish

and a wide array of nudibranchs.

Our second dive was at Pelican Head

a great wall dive on the outer edge of

the bay. Highlights included

After lunch we dived Yellow Wall of

Texas another great wall dive.

After lunch we visited the Komodo

Dragons as they sunned themselves

on the beach. As always a very special

and truly unique experience that we

offer on board the komodo Dancer.

Our night dive was at Torpedo Alley a

great muck diving site. Highlights of

the dive were moon head gill slug,

cuttlefish, ornate ghostpipe fish,

Ceratasoma magnifica, coconut

Friday, 10th April

Visibility: 15-20

Last night we made the crossing to

Padar Island and began our diving

doing two dives on W Reef, 3

submerged pinnacles full of colorful

corals. Highlights included Giant

Frogfish, pygmy seahorses and white

tip reef sharks.

After lunch we dived Secret Garden a

great slope which transforms onto a

mini wall. Abundant in a wide variety

of soft corals other highlights included

leaf scorpion fish, frogfish and

Pink Beach an incredibly beautiful

setting to watch the sunset.

Pasir Putih a great site with highlights

Saturday 11th April

Visibility: 25+

Our first dive of the day was at

Makasaar crystal clear warm water

welcomed us. The current was strong

but our luck was in we had incredible

encounters with Mantas and white tip

reef sharks.

We then dived Batu Balong an

incredible pinnacle dive with massive

schools of Anthias, fuseliers, a variety

of Travelly as well as giant moreys,

Napoleon Wrasse, groupers, turtles

and sharks.

After lunch we dived Tatawa Besaar

another great site full of life and

We then headed for Gili Lawa Durat

the location of this evening’s night

dive as well as the afternoon hike to

the top of the hill.

The night dive at a site known as

Spanish Slope highlights included

Spanish dancers and a frogfish.


Sunday, 12th April

Visibility: 20+

We began our day diving Lighthouse

reef an incredibly beautiful and

colourful reef full of life. Highlights

included white tip reef sharks, leaf

scorpionfish, Hawksbill turtles and

After breakfast we dived Crystal Rock

a well-known pinnacle dive full of life

highlights included pygmy seahorses,

white tip reef sharks and large schools

of snappers, trevally and sweetlips.

Our third dive was at Batumoncho

highlights included flatworms mating,

schools of glass fish, scorpion leaf fish

and Giant Mantis Shrimp.

We then headed for Banta Island and

dived Circus for our night dive

highlights included stargazers, free

simming morays, snake eels, a large

octopus and Bobtail squid.


Monday 13th April

Water Temp: 28

Visibility: 10

Overnight we travelled to Bima and

sadly said farewell to 5 fabulous

guests. Those remaining spent the day

diving Fuzzy Bottom 1 and 2.

Awesome muck diving highlights of

which were Sea moths, thorny

seahorse’s, bobit worms, coconut

octopus, phantom velvet fish, pipe fish,

rhinopius, ambon scorpion fish,

cowfish, cuttlefish, skeleton crabs,

decorator crabs, carrier crabs,

swimming crabs, nudibranchs,

coleman shrimps and zebra crabs. All

in all a fantastic day and night of

critter diving.


Tuesday, 14th April

Visibility: 20+

We travelled all night reaching Moyo

Island just after 8:30 in the morning.

We started our day diving Angel reef

an incredible wall dive with

spectacular coral. To dive this site is

an absolute privilege.

After breakfast we dived Long

Reef an incredible sea mount full of life and

our highlight was surely a close

encounter with a spotted eagle ray.

We then began the long journey to


Wednesday, 15th April

Air Temp: 31

Water Temp: 27

Visibility: 15-20

We began our day diving Tepekong

and were blown away with the first 10

minutes we got a Mola Mola certainly

a highlight for everyone and a first for

all our divers.


We then did our final dive of the trip

at Mempang a great wall and slope

dive with highlights being

white tips

sharks and cuttlefish.


We then made our way to Benoa

Harbour our final destination of

another incredible trip onboard the

Komodo Dancer.
