Saturday June 13th

This week we welcomed aboard a group from Canada, Australia and USA on the Kona Aggressor ll. We picked everyone up from the Kona Pier Saturday evening and headed out to the mooring for dinner and a briefing. We came up with a plan for the week and headed to bed so we could be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning.



Sunday June 14th

The Kona Aggressor ll headed north to Turtle Pinnacle for the first dives of the week. Everyone did great on the check out dive and saw Dragon Wrasse, Yellow Tail Corris (all Stages), White Mouth Moray, Moorish Idol, Fine Scale Trigger Fish, Moorish Idol, Turtle, Viper Moray, Psychedelic Wrasse, Dragon Wrasse and watched a Horned Helmet eat a collector Urchin. During our stay we were entertained by Spinner Dolphins! Next, we headed to Garden Eel Cove where we did our last three dives of the day. On the dives our guests saw a White Sided Razor Wrasse, Octopus, Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Tiger Snake Moray, Raspberry Nudibranch and a Undulated Moray. During the night dive, we had Mantas putting on a show for our divers.


Monday June 15th

The Kona Aggressor ll headed south to the Dome for the first two dives. The group really enjoyed the Lava Cave. Some highlights of the dive were a Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Mole Cowrie, Seven Eleven Crab, Frog Fish and a White Tip Reef Shark. While enjoying a delicious meal, we headed further south to Lions Den for dive number three. The chatter on the dive deck afterwards was of a Leaf Scorpion Fish and an Octopus; Strawberry and Fried Egg Nudibranchs. Next, we headed to the Hive for the last three dives of the day. What our guests recalled seeing were a Sculptured and Regal Slipper Lobster, Spiny Lobster, Conger Eel, Red Lion Fish, Decoy Scorpion Fish and a Dragon Moray!


Tuesday June 16th

The Kona Aggressor ll continued south to Thompsons Reef and were lucky enough to see a Divided (Tiger) Flatworm, Fried Egg Nudibranch, Giant Porcupine Puffer Fish, Long Spine Puffer Fish and a Spotted Burr Fish.  Next, we headed to Catacombs for our third dive of the day. The group really enjoyed the underwater topography and seeing a Seven Eleven Crab, Reticulated Butterfly Fish and a White Margin Nudibranch. The Kona Aggressor headed further south to Manuka Bay for the last two dives of the day. The talk on the dive deck afterwards was of seeing a Yellow Margin Moray, Undulated Moray, Blue Spotted Cornett Fish and a Dragon Moray!


Wednesday June 17th

Early and during a beautiful sunrise, we began our way back north to Peles Playground for our first dive. Our guest really enjoyed all the Lava Formations underwater and found a White Margin Nudibranch, Tom Smiths Nudibranch, Reticulated Butterfly Fish, Tear Drop Butterfly Fish, Long Handed Lobster, Leaf Scorpion Fish, and a Titan Scorpion Fish.  Next, We headed to the Au Au Crater and saw a Galactic Scorpion Fish, Red Lion Fish, Sculptured Slipper Lobster and a Turtle. The Kona Aggressor ll continued north to Robs Reef for the last dives of the day. The guests really enjoyed the cave where they saw Regal Slipper Lobster, Crabs, Conger Eel and an Eagle Ray. On the night dive they saw Candy Cane Shrimp, Banded Hinge Back Shrimp, Marbled Shrimp, Decoy Scorpion Fish and a Henshaw Snake Eel!


Thursday June 18th

We moved to Paradise Pinnacle for the first two dives of the day. The discussion on the dive deck after the dives was of seeing Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Peacock Razor Wrasse, Tinkers Butterfly Fish, a Red Stripe Pipe Fish and a Long Fin Anthia, Leaf Scorpion Fish and a Day Octopus. During lunch we moved north to Driftwood for the third dive. What our guests enjoyed most on the dive was swimming through the Lave Tubes and seeing a Striped Belly Puffer Fish, Yellow Margin Moray, Eagle Ray and a White Tip Reef Shark. Next, we headed further north to Manta Ville where our guests saw Mantas, 

a Titan Scorpion Fish and a Rosy Nudibranch.  For the night dive our guest had a lovely performance put on by some hungry Mantas.


Friday June 19th

The last two dives of the week were at Old Airport where our guests saw a Yellow Margin Moray, Seven Eleven Crab, a Trembling Nudibranch, Bourdailes Shrimp, a Crowned Jelly Fish and a Eagle Ray.


Saturday June 20th

We dropped our guests off at the pier in Kona and said our farewells to our new friends from Canada, Australia and USA. Congratulations to our Iron Divers Wayne, Richard, Bryan, Richard and Joe. Also congratulations to Zach on making Eagle Scout!  Thanks again for the awesome week! We had a lot of fun with you aboard the Kona Aggressor ll. We hope to see you again soon!
