                            Welcome Aboard!

This week we happily & eagerly greeted our new family members from China. They arrive from different cities of the country, Beijing , Shanghai and Wenzhou . After a welcome drink and being showed to their cabins everyone gathered in the dining area for the general boat briefing and introduction of the crew, while munching on our chefs exquisite mini pizzas and assortment of seasonal fruit . After setting up equipment and finishing some paperwork, they were free to visit the very mystical Port Ghaleb at sunset hours. After our steak dinner it was time for a beer and a glass of local wine & off to bed.

Sunday October 4th

Day 1 started in Port Ghalib .We are all excited to start our diving trip. We enjoyed a continental breakfast and at 8:30 am we sailed to Marsa Shoona. This dive site offers to our divers the chance to check their equipment and buoyancy and get familiar with the Red sea marine life. Boat to boat diving and it is the perfect place for a check dive. We all enjoyed the rich and diverse marine life of the bay and our second dive, zodiac to zodiac , offered us a vision of a giant green turtle and her junior posing peacefully for the joy of the divers and underwater photographers. We ended the day with a night dive in Ras Trombi.

Monday October 5th

Day 2 started in Little Brother. We sailed all night to reach the remote and wild offshore reefs of Brothers Islands. Waking up at dawn facing the open water and the rocky island profile of the reef is a bliss. Breakfast at 6 am and we are ready and set to dive the south plateau and drift his east wall. Not even a minute from the start of our dive and a white tip oceanic shark (Longimanus ) appears in the blue for the excitement of our divers and underwater photographers, A thrilling feeling. We continued the wall dive exploring the astonishing fan coral garden at 30 mt depth. The afternoon is dedicated to dive the outstanding north plateau which offered us the spots of a grey reef , a hammerhead a thresher shark and an explosion of marine life. It was such an exciting day. A relaxing evening watching the stars on the sun deck it’s our reward.

Tuesday October 6th

Day 3 started in Little Brother and continued in Big Brother. After a peaceful night mooring on Little Brother, a light breakfast and it is already 6:30 and it is time for our early morning dive . We planned to dive the North Plateau and then drift to the east wall. A grey reef and a thresher shark at a close distance and the magical scenario of a wall dive filled with anthias, colourful soft and fan corals and a school of barracudas hovering in the blue. At 10 am we are ready to dive the Big Brother Island just a mile away from the little one. We planned there 3 dives visiting the South Plateau, The Numibia and Aida wrecks .

Wednesday October 7th

Day 4 started in Daedalus Reef. We sailed all night to reach the offshore reef of Daedalus. We are all excited to explore his walls and dive with his large school of Hammerhead sharks in the North Plateau.

The 6:30 and 10 am dives are dedicated to the North Plateau and it is time for a Zodiac to zodiac dive with a clear objective : spot Hammerhead sharks. We descended close to the reef and then we hovered in the blue and suddenly a school of 11 hammerheads approach us for the excitement and wonder of our guests. The late afternoon dive was at the Anemone garden sitting on the west wall, a peaceful and relaxing dive.

Thursday October 8th

Day 5 started in Shaab Abu Dabab and continued in Elphinstone.
Early in the morning we planned a zodiac to zodiac dive to the coral garden of Shaab Abu Dabab. Impressive diving above and under mountain corals, cracks and caves. In the late morning we finally moored in Elphinstone, an offshore reef not far from the coast of Marsa Alam. We are excited to be here. We planned to visit his beautiful walls and astonishing south Plateau. We enjoyed two drift dives here with a strong current from the north.

Friday October 9th

Day 6 started in Shaab Abu Dabab . It is our last day diving and at 6:30 am it is time for our early morning dive. A napoleon wrasse appears for the flashes of our underwater photographers while a giant moray swam around table corals. Our last dive started visiting a system of cracks and caves and a large and rich garden of mountain corals, such a perfect way to end our diving trip. Our Chinese guests will definitely miss the Red sea and his underwater marine treasures. To end the trip we had a cocktail party to celebrate our liveaboard and assign the iron diver certifications.
