Island Dancer II Captains Log Nov 7th to 14th 2015

Water Temp-79f                           Weather- Sunny & Warm                         Visibility- 100+ ft

We headed out of Suva on Saturday afternoon with 10 guests from Fisheye
Scuba in Folsom, California. All the guests, Jyl, Ron, Terrie, Richard,
Dom and Diana, and owners Tom, Heidi, Johnny, and Kim had an excellent
dive adventure. Our first destination was Gau Reef in the Nagali Passage
where we got to dive up close on a personal shark feed with an
impressive school of Grey Reef Sharks and then drifted through large
schools of Bigeye Jacks and Barracuda. Then it was off to Namena Reef
where we spent two full days diving among some of the most beautiful
coral bommies in Fiji, featuring a seemingly unlimited number of reef
fish and soft coral of every color. Then we visited Makogai Island for
some amazing pinnacle diving and a wonderful village tour where we were
entertained by the Fijian children and participated in a traditional
kava ceremony. Later in the week we spent the day diving two of Fiji’s
most famous dive sites, E-6 and Hi-8. Here we encountered Hammerhead
Sharks and Dogtooth Tuna, along with huge schools of fusiliers,
snappers, anthias and other colorful reef fish. We celebrated Tom’s 44th
birthday on our final dive day at Manta Rock, Wakaya Reef where we saw
white tip reef sharks, eagle rays, and a large school of bigeye
barracuda. The diving conditions were just about perfect all week, with
light currents, 80-100ft visibility, and 78-81F water temp. The
Fisheye group all had an excellent dive week with outstanding service by
the Island Dancer II crew. Thanks to Ned, Moses, Joji, Sam and Peni for
an outstanding week of diving and adventure.

Safe Diving,

Fish Eye Scuba
