Dive Sites: Sandy Slope & Front Porch
We week started with the usual check out dive to get everyone sorted out with proper weights and buoyancy before descending down to the beautiful reef at Sandy Slope. Our first day of diving was fantastic, with sightings of green morays, Eagle rays, Southern stingrays, black groupers, Nassau groupers, barracuda, and tons of reef fish. We also saw too many lobsters to count. The great dives continued at Front Porch with more sightings of green morays and a huge whiptail stingray, a huge scorpionfish, and the spotted toadfish.

Dive Sites: Elbow & Grand Bogue
We rarely get to dive The Elbow, but with flat calm seas it was a GO! There were schools of jacks and spade fish hovering mid water, while rainbow parrotfish grazed below. We saw a hawksbill turtle, several green and spotted morays, and lots of groupers. Later at Grand Bogue, the eels were still out. We also saw more spotted toadfish…one was completely out of his hole! On the night dive we saw too many squid to count…we think they may have been mating. We also found nudibranch, octopus, eels, and hundreds of schooling minnows were below the boat.

Dive Sites: Lighthouse Wall & Long Caye Ridge
We woke up to great weather and headed out to Lighthouse wall and Long Caye Ridge for what would be some of the best dives of the trip. There were Eagle ray sightings, a visit from a Caribbean reef shark, several Southern stingrays, lots of groupers and barracudas, and a green sea turtle. We found some pipefish, a pipehorse, peacock flounder, and several tiny shrimp and slugs. The highlight of the day had to be the encounter with a Great hammerhead shark that briefly came by to check out the divers.

Dive Sites: Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye Wall & Long Caye Wall
Our first dive of the trip was at the world famous Great Blue Hole, followed by Half Moon Caye wall, and Long Caye wall. Our divers descended to the depths at the Blue hole to admire massive stalactite formation, then headed to the dive sites to explore the beautiful reef formations, fish life, and swim throughs. Today felt like swimming in an aquarium amongst hundreds of species of reef fish, colourful coral, and beautiful sponges.

Dive Sites: Chain Wall, Site W, & Silver Caves
Today was our last full dive day and it was a day full of excitement. We had encounters with friendly groupers and barracuda, a hawksbill turtle, Eagle rays, stingrays, and a Caribbean reef shark. We saw another reef shark later on the night dive…which was a great send off to our guests as the last night dive of the trip, as we also saw 3 octopi, several squid, nudibranch, lots of tarpon, and a seahorse.

Dive Site: Black Beauty
Our final dive site of the week was Black Beauty on the Southern end of Turneffe atoll. We did an early morning dive before breakfast and then hopped in for the final dive of the week after breakfast. We saw several free-swimming green morays, Southern stingrays, and Eagle ray, and toadfish on the final dives of the week.
We had an amazing week with a great group of people…can’t wait to go diving with you again!
Congrats to Rob, Santiago, Luc, Peg, and Tony, for doing all the dives this week and becoming Belize Aggressor III IRON DIVERS!!!
Thank you all for a GREAT week!
