Another great week of diving, Crossing both ways had a fair share of waves and sun, the island was a bit unpredictable as we had the super moon this week. The super moon got us a lot of waver and a very strong surge, it di stop the current in some of the dive sites but towards the end of the week the current came back, so for the most part the dives were easy, of course that doesn’t mean the dives were slow, as a matter of fact we had some incredible dives starting from day one, now the very first day of dive was a bit sandy as the surge came up in mid water due to the surge and waves, on our first day of diving we had lots of hammerhead sharks, marble rays and the tigers, now the tiger started to get friendly as the days went on also the quantities of the sharks went un in the numbers, so the super moon really did helped us.

We had some good dives in Punta Maria, Dos Amigos Small was full of Galapagos sharks, the arch in the Big Dos Amigos was loaded with fish and a couple of marble rays right in the middle of the arch.

Dirty Rock along with Alcyone were full of life as the thermos came and went, a couple of times the cold water would stir the bottom and bring the Marble rays up to a warmer depth, in both places we had the schooling hammers overhead, also in one of the dives in Alcyone we had the Almaco jacks getting very close to the dives some is not common with them.

It seemed that all around the island the dive was good, the top water conditions were not the best this week as we were getting very strong winds part of what this super moon brought to the island.

So good diving and lots of hammerheads and fish, however Manuelita had the best dives and the most fish of all dive sites, on top of everything you didn’t have to do a lot of work I mean swimming or fighting currents, Manuelita has three well define cleaning stations for the Hammerhead sharks, so you have to just find the right place hopefully in the path the sharks fallow to get clean and sit there and enjoy the show. We had some amazing dives, watching the sharks getting clean, few time the cleaning procees had to stop as this huge tiger sharks would break in the middle of the hammerheads, so here we were with the hammers, the tigers and all of the sudden this beautiful huge Manta Ray (manta birostris) showed up making us all forget for few minutes the hammers and the tiger, the Manta was friendly she came and went around the divers for more than five minutes, we all went crazy taking pictures and video.

We had an amazing group, excellent diving, good positive people a group from the Czech Republic. Leaded by Radek and his Penguin divers.

Stay tune for more
