Saturday 5th August 2017
Today is arrival day on board the Indo aggressor with great excitement we welcomed 16 Guests from USA, Canada, China, Switzerland, France, Spain, Malaysia and New Zealand Due to late arrivals we had no time to dive but enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the way to an island known as Gili Lawa Darat. Arriving in time for our first dinner together.
Sunday 6th August 2017
We began our day with a check out dive in the bay of GLD. Crystal clear warm water welcomed us. Highlights included Crocodile fish, Nudibranchs, Hawksbill turtle and an assortment of colourful reef fish.
Our second dive was just north of Gili Lawa Laut on an exciting pinnacle known as Castle Rock. Highlights included white tip reef sharks, free swimming moray, schooling trevally, giant trevally and napoleon wrasse.
Our third dive was at Crystal Rock another wonderful pinnacle with many sightings of white tip reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, jacks, schooling surgeon fish and an assortment of various reef fish.
Our night dive was at Crystal Bay highlights included a variety nudis, carrier crabs, decorator crabs and dwarf cuttlefish.
Monday 7th August 2017
In the early hours we headed west to Banta Island. We began our day diving West Point highlights included spectacular corals and many close encounters with many mantas.
We then moved to Rollercoaster an incredible wall and slope combination. Highlights included manta rays, banded sea snake, schooling jacks and whip coral shrimp.
Our third dive was at K2 another great wall slope combination. Highlights included frogfish, juvenile barramundi, juvenile emperor angel fish, leaf scorpion fish and nudis.
Our night dive was at Circus highlights included stargazers, stonefish, leaf scorpion fish, dwarf cuttlefish, twin spotted lionfish, harlequin snake eels and white V octopus.
Tuesday 8th August 2017
We began our day diving at Makasaar Reef, a very shallow reef covered in rubble and manta cleaning stations. We were extremely lucky to have many close encounters with giant manta rays.
The second dive was at Batu Bolong, a stunning pinnacle dive in the center of Komodo National Park. Highlights included: giant barracuda, giant trevally, golden trevally, white tip reef sharks and napoleon wrasse.
Our third dive was at the famous drift dive known as Shotgun. Highlights included manta rays, giant trevally, hawksbill and green turtles.
The night dive was at Spanish Step. Highlights included: Nudibranchs, decorator crabs and white tip reef sharks.
Wednesday 9th August 2017
We began our day diving at Tatawa Besar, a stunning sloping reef covered in orange, yellow and pink soft corals. Highlights included: black tip reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, leaf scorpion fish and hawksbill turtles.
The second dive was a exciting drift dive at Siaba Kecil, a combination of wall slope and some overhang here and there makes for an unique reef topography. Highlights included: hawksbill turtles, giant trevally, dog toothed tuna and large schools of midnight snappers.
The third and night dive was over a sandy reef slope called Wainilu. Highlights included: ribbon eels, broadclub cuttlefish, peacock mantis shrimp, seahorses and a wide array of nudibranchs.
Thursday 10th August 2017
In the early hours we headed to Nusakode, south of Rinja Island.
Our first dive was over at Cannibal Rock, a large submerged sea mount covered in a wide variety of crinoids, hard corals, sponges and even black corals. Highlights included: broadclub cuttlefish, bamboo sharks, nudibranchs, and hawksbill turtles.
The second dive was at Yellow Wall, a wall slope combination with an abundance of yellow and green soft coral. Highlights included: leaf scorpion fish, giant frogfish and a wide array of nudis.
For the third dive we went to Pelican Head, another stunning wall slope combination covered in a wide variety of crinoids. Highlights included: white tip reef shark, nurse sharks, napoleon wrasse and a variety of nudibranchs.
The night dive was at Torpedo Alley. Highlights included: frogfish, seahorse, nudibranchs and a wide array of crustaceans.
Friday 11th August 2017
Early in the morning we arrived south of Komodo at a place called Langkoi. Our first and second dives were at Manta Alley. We had many close encounters with giant manta rays underwater on the cleaning stations but also feeding at the surface.
The third dive was at Secret Garden just of off Padar island. A combination of a reef slope and a wall covered in black coral and many crinoids. Highlights included: nudibranchs, eagle ray, nurse sharks and coleman shrimp.
The night dive was on a sandy reef slope called Pasir Putih. Highlights included: giant frogfish, soft corals crab, nudibranchs and free swimming moray eels.
Saturday 12th August 2017
Our first two dives were at Castle and Crystal Rock incredible pinnacle dives. Highlights included napoleon wrasse, giant trevally, grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, octopus sweetlips, spotted eagle rays and large hawksbill turtles.
Our third dive was an exciting drift dive called Golden Passage. Highlights included: giant trevallys, black tip reef sharks, barracuda and leaf scorpion fish.
The night dive was at Komodo Step. Highlights included: broad club cuttlefish, leaf scorpion fish, white tip reef shark and nudibranchs.
Sunday 13th August 2017
We began our day diving at our signature drift dive called shotgun. Highlights included: manta rays, mobula rays, giant trevallys and white tip reef sharks.
Our second dive was an easy drift dive at Mauan island. Highlights included: Manta rays, leaf scorpion fish and a big school of big eyed squid.
The third dive was at Tatawa Kecil, an extremely healthy reef loaded with fish. Highlights included: stunning corals, napoleon wrasse, hawksbill turtles, white tip reef sharks and giant trevallys.
The night dive was at West Point. Highlights included: Broad club cuttlefish, Spanish dancer, decorator crab and nudibranchs.
Monday 14th August 2017
Our dive was at Makassar where we hoped to find mantas.
We then headed to the north of Rinja Island and anchored just off the island of Wainilu for our second dive.
After the dive we prepared for our official dragon trekking experience. We had close encounters with Komodo Dragons, monkeys, Timor deer and wild pigs.
On returning to the boat we hoisted the sails and guests got the opportunity to have a final photo of the Indo aggressor in all her glory. On our way back to port guests enjoyed a farewell cocktail party followed by a viewing of the official trip video and a small award ceremony. We then enjoyed a farewell dinner together on board the Indo Aggressor. Sadly tomorrow is departure day and guests disembark.
