Saturday November 25th
Dive Tarpoon DC, from Getxo, Spain, is the first group of divers we receive in Maldives on this destination reopening. Received at the airport and transferred to local island Vilingili for the first night, we briefed the group about the week ahead, the boat, the route and the objectives we would like to show them. After dinner, meeting time scheduled for the next morning.
Sunday November 26th
Accommodation, safety and dive briefings and straight in the water after breakfast. Two manta dives, with several of this majestic animals around the cleaning station made our day, which we completed with a funny dive at the Factory with many moray eels, sting rays and lots of fish.
Set sail towards west atoll of Rasdoo sailing under the stars.
Monday November 27th
Rasdoo Madivaru walls are always full of fish life, sharks, rays, groups of jacks and dive time passes so quick we always want more, so did 2 dives there before being delighted by our chefs lunch, sailing to Maaya thila is Ari atoll for the third dive, also spectacular, with some white tips, school of baby barracudas, 4 turtles and a camouflaged Stone fish.
Tuesday November 28th
After a morning Yoga session, we dived Baathala first, surrounded by school of Indian Banner fish, a large school of silver jacks, some white tips and nice macro and fish life on top of the pinnacle.
Weather starts to change due to the influence of a cyclone which is located nearby India & Sri Lanka (mere 500miles from Maldives) but dives and route did not change.
Mushimas thila was next location, lucky sighting of a guitar shark, some more turtles feeding on the reef, morays and large school of blue striped yellow snappers.
Some time on the beach after the third dive of the day followed by some rain so we had to move from beach to the boat front to complete the day with a BBQ.
Wednesday November 29th
A coffee, a toast, and a Manta Dive, what else can we ask to start our day, then add a whale shark at the second dive, and some mobulas at the third … unfortunately the wind is picking up and thunderstorms and heavy showers joined as well.
Thursday November 30th
Even with the bad weather we schedule 3 dives for today, wall dives mostly, with turtles, white tip sharks, tunas and colorful reef fishes … and we end the day visiting the local island of Maamigili, even the rain, to mix with the locals and do some souvenir shopping, returning to the boat to have another culinary experience by our chefs!
Friday December 1st
Last day of diving, Alain 100dive milestone today, how better way to celebrate than with a friendly Whale shark who swims with us during 10min before diving deep back into the blue, and we close the dive week with a relaxing shallow dive near the resort jetty to say goodbye to the Maldivian underwater world.
Saturday December 2nd
Saturday long sailing back to Male, we see the sun after 3 days, but all happy after a good week of diving and lots of sightings; afternoon visit to the capital island and transfer to the International airport before heading home, sad but with full batteries after a great week of diving, good vibe between the group guides and crew and excellent food coming from the Galley.
Many Iron divers this week, so the whole group should say, to endure with the weather we had, rain and waves, so time to celebrate, including Alain 100 dive with the whale shark.
Thanks again for joining us this week along the Maldives Aggressor, DIVE TARPOON, we hope to see you again soon!
