Getting There, Passports & Visa Documentation:
The Hurghada International Airport is approximately 5 hours from Port Berenice and the Marsa Alam International Airport is 2.5 hours from Port Berenice. Below are the airlines that fly into both airports. There are many other airlines that offer direct flights.Hurghada International Airport (HRG): Turkish Air, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa & Condor, Egypt Air, Air Berlin
Marsa Alam International Airport (RMF): Egypt Air, Swiss Air, Air Berlin, TuiFly, Brussels Air, and Eurowings Air. Schedules and days of the week vary from airline to airline.
Passports/Port Clearance to Travel: (Required 14 Days Prior to Charter Start Date) All passport and detail information must be entered in the GIS (Guest Information System) and completed 14 days prior to the departure date due to the specialized itineraries. The yacht requires a scanned copy of each guest’s passport to be uploaded through the GIS 14 days prior to the yacht departure so it can be sent to local authorities to secure permission for guests to board. Egyptian citizens must scan a copy of their ID and passport no less than 14 days prior to arrival for port clearance. Israeli citizens need to supply passport copies 30 days in advance of their charter departure date.
Failure to provide the timely information above could result in not being cleared to board.
Visitors must have a current passport, adequate funds to support themselves, and a return airline ticket. US citizens require a passport that must be valid for 6 months from date of entry. It is the travelers’ responsibility to ensure they have the proper visa to travel into each country on his or her itinerary as well as for re-entry and return to their country. Since regulations vary by country, contact your consulate or embassy of your country for the requirement.
Arrival/Boarding/Departure:
Transfers: 14-days prior to boarding the yacht, advance transportation reservations are required for complimentary pick up from the Marsa Alam International or Hurghada Airport.Due to the remoteness of the two itineraries, the Marine Park and government permissions, it is mandatory guests take scheduled transfers to and from Port Bernice which is where the Red Sea Aggressor V embarks/disembarks. In addition, a passport copy must be uploaded to your portal 14 days prior to departure date (USA time) for the yacht to secure port clearance or guests will be denied boarding.
There are three options for transfers:
- Book a private transfer through Aggressor Detours travel@aggressor.com. Private transfers are booked through the same company who runs the Aggressor bus service.
- Arrive Marsa Alam Airport OR Hurghada Airport on Charter Start Date: The Red Sea Aggressor V offers a scheduled Saturday bus transfer for guests to/from Port Berenice. Guests arriving to Hurghada or Marsa Alam Airport on the Saturday charter date prior to bus transfer schedule / pick up times will recieve a complimentary transfer from the airport to the shuttle waiting areas.
- Already in Egypt: Meet at Aggressor shuttle waiting area for transfer to Port Berenice.
The Aggressor Bus transfers will run on the below schedule:
- Departs 10:00 a.m. Hurghada - Arrival 1:00 p.m. Port Ghalib. Departs 2:00 p.m. - Arrival 6:00 p.m. Port Berenice.
We advise all guests to either arrive one day day early or on flights landing into Hurghada early AM or Marsa Alam Noon or before. If your flights are later and you cannot make the shuttle bus times above it is mandatory to arrange a private transfer through travel@aggressor.com at least 14 days prior to the trip. We will not be able to accomodate late arrivals.
If you arrive prior to the charter date, you will need to make your own way to one of our holding locations to catch an Aggressor bus or arrange a private transfer through our detours team.
- 10am - Hurghada Shuttle bus pick up point - Aggressor transit office. 488 El Madares Street Hurghada, Red Sea
- 1pm - Port Ghalib Shuttle Bus pick up point - Divino Restaurant & Coffee Shop at Port Ghalib Marina
- One-way Aggressor Bus Transfers from Hurghada to Port Berenice OR Port Berenice to Hurghada cost $50 per person.
- One way Aggressor Bus transfers from Port Ghalib to Port Berenice OR Berenice to Port Ghalib cost $30 per person.
Due to Berenice being an Egyptian Naval Base, guests must use Aggressor transfers from Hurghada or Port Ghalib to Berenice to board the RSA V. Please be sure to include your arrival time and/or hotel reservations when completing your online paperwork through the GIS. You must note if you wish to take the shuttle bus in your GIS under the travel section.
After the Port Authorities have checked all guests’ passports and given clearance to depart Port Berenice, no one can board the boat under any circumstances. No bags or guests can be delivered to the yacht after clearance is given.
Arrival Back to Port
The yacht returns to Port Berenice Friday afternoon. A sunset cocktail party and dinner will be served on board the yacht.Local Fees/Taxes
There is a per person USD Port Fee and a USD Marine Park fee.
At the end of the week, guests are charged USD $45 Port fee per person and a USD 105 Marine Park fee per person for the a Rocky – Zabargad Itinerary charter or USD $45 Port fee per person and a USD 205 Marine Park fee per person for the Elba Reef Itinerary fee per person.
There is a 14% Value Added Tax (VAT) required by the Egyptian Federal Law for all onboard billings for any retail or service added to your bill that includes port fees, marine park fees, dive courses, clothing sales and nitrox.
Upon arrival to Egypt, all guests must pay an entry visa of $25. They do not offer a multi-entry visa. (subject to change without notice) If guests would like to purchase a visa in advance, please visit: https://visa2egypt.gov.eg/eVisa/FAQ
Please Note: Drones are not allowed in Egypt. The Egyptian Government forbids international tourists from carrying drone aircraft into the country. If you do enter Egypt with a drone aircraft, the Egyptian Government warns they will confiscate the drone.
Taxes and fees paid onboard the yacht are subject to change without notice.
GRATUITIES
Gratuities are not included at all Aggressor destinations. Tipping is voluntary and based on the service the staff has provided you. The Manager will provide envelopes for gratuities upon settling your account at the end of the week. Gratuities are shared equally among all staff. All Aggressors accept cash, Visa, and MasterCard payments for gratuities.
