Saturday
24 excited guests board the Aggressor Floating Resort. Salah cooks up an incredible salmon steak and potato dinner and strawberry cheesecake from pastry chef Ahmed. We get a full safety briefing out and we are ready to start having fun. Then we all settle in for restful night’s sleep excited for what tomorrow holds.
Sunday
Up and at ‘em. The boat gets off the dock just after hot breakfast to start making its way to the north side of Shouna. We arrive at Marsa Shouna for our check out dive and everything goes swimmingly. Everyone looks like pros in the water making divemaster’s jobs easy. We spot a decent size moray eel. We wanted to get close as well coming in to check out divers as they pass. We find a few bluespotted stingrays, many different reef fish, some spices new for divers as the excist only in Red Sea. Next, we head to Abu Dabab 1 and enjoy the beautiful wall there, lots of hard coral with teeny tiny crabs guarding their home by waving their arms like ninjas if you get to close. One more dive after sunset where the group spots many nocturnal critters such as Feather stars, crabs, large snails, shrimps and an octopus. Everyone makes it back and we serve steak dinner.
Monday
We start our day at Elphinstone reef and there is so much life to be seen on colorfull wall here. The fish are schooling, the reef is so wealthy you could not ask for better dives. After second dive we move to Shabrour for the next. As we are swimming, there are a turtle, rays to be seen in the sand and a scorpionfish trying to camouflage itself into the reef. Night dive is great at that dive site no one was disappointed. Red anemone, two scorpion fish, many star fish, a crown of thorn, crabs are the highlights. We make our way back to the boat and start our way to Daedalus reef.
Tuesday
We wake up early morning at Daedalus reef and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive. Dive 1 done on the north side of the reef. Excellent dive with large free swimming moray, Napoleon wrasses, nudibranches, anthias and much more. Dive 2 took a place after hot breakfast and jump off the tenders at north tip again drifting with the reef on the right heading east. Lots of fish and lots of life. We encountered three hammerhead sharks, a school of yellow spotted trevallies, barracudas and dogtooth tunas. Then it’s time to dive off the main boat over south plateau keeping the reef left. After dive chef pumped us up with delicious lunch with oriental lentil soup, salads, spaghetti carbonara and oriental deserts with fresh fruits. Guests take a zodiac to west wall where we were lucky to see 7 hammerhead sharks at the depth 25 meters. We also check out the plateau at 15 feet covered by anemones. We also spot large scorpion fish, moray eels, wart slugs on the wall and lots of reef fish. After the dive the time to pay a visit to Light House while the crew and the captain prepare the boat for night crossing toward St’John’s reefs.
Wednesday
We wake up early at St.John’s Paradise reef for 2 dives exploring its coral garden, pillars surrounded by cloud of anthias fish and soft corals, swimthoughs with slugs and nudies on the sea floor. We gets to see beautiful risbecia nudibranches, take pictures of anemone fishes and free swimming giant moray eels. An octopus appear from its shelter inside hard coral while we are swimming along. Afternoon we enjoy the dives at St.John’s caves exploring unique topography. There are many pinnacles grow close to each other creating amazing swimthroughs. We explore gorgeous reef inside and outside and we get to see lots of macro marine life such as wartslugs, stingrays, pipe fish, dart fish, different blennies and gobies, Arabian angelfish, one more octopus and more. Night dive also does not disappoint as we find many nocturnal critters. We spotted boxer shrimps, nudies, a giant moray eel, crabs, basket stars, feather stars, sea stars. After the dive delicious dinner is served from chef Salah and desert.
Thursday
Early morning we are ready for the awesomeness that we were about to experience for the day. Our first dive is a gorgeous dive at Sataya reef located 5 hours crossing north of St. John’s area. Our lovely guests really impressed by the wealthy reef. Underwater we get to see pipefish, moray eels, anemones and enjoyed one of the most beautiful coral reef. When we get up from the dive, we motore over to Dolphin house where we swim with a pod of dolphins. We join the pod for a while, we swim with them for about an hour and everybody comes back to the yacht with big smiles! Next up is Shaab Claudia. During the dive we explore swimthroughs and were able to see popcorn shrims, clown fish, gobies, pajama chromodorid, napoleon wrasse, yellow snappers, free swimming giant moray eel. Night dive offeres us a moray eel, a tiny cuttle fish, a few starfish, crabs, hundreds of shrimps, sticky cucumber, walking feather star and more. After the dive guests enjoys a nice hot chocolate with baileys and its time to serve turkey dinner. Everyone goes to bed with full bellies and looking forward for the continue of the adventure.
Friday
We get underway and out of the marina early and to our first dive site Talata. We see so much here puffers, and trunk fish, barracuda, and anemones. The visibility was great despite the intensive wind. Shouns’s seegrass field is our second dive stop and it this dive site never disappoints. Everyone enjoys the huge green turtles. We spot a rare guitar shark and tons of critters in seagrass such as large octopus, pharaos cuttlefish, cigar wrasses, box fish and more. After lunch we make our way back to the dock and celebrate the week gone past at our cocktail party. A perfect end to a perfect trip.
