The staff at Labuan Bajo brimmed with enthusiasm as they extended a warm welcome to the guests boarding the Indo Aggressor  from USA, Canada, Taiwan and Sweden for an exciting adventure through Komodo National Park. With hospitality in full swing, guests were promptly guided to their respective cabins, and a delectable lunch was promptly served. Our diving activities was scheduled for 

24th of January 2023, 

Dive 1 with a checkout dive planned at Bidadari Island, where we would spend the night. 

As the sun peeked over the horizon around 5:00 AM the next morning, we began our journey towards the stunning Sebayur Kecil.

 

January 25th, 2023:

The day commenced with us perched on the western-northern shores of Sebayur Island, all set to embark on our very first underwater expedition.

Dive 2 - Sebayur Kecil:

Dive Time: 07:00 AM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Temperature: Approximately 24°C

Special Marine Life: Our underwater odyssey unfolded amidst the captivating presence of garden eels, leaf scorpionfish, pygmy seahorses, and a colorful tapestry of nudibranchs, all framed by the backdrop of enchanting hard and soft corals.

With the first dive's thrills behind us, we heaved anchor and charted a course for Tatawa Island, nestled at the heart of Komodo National Park.

Dive 3 - Tatawa Besar:

Dive Time: 10:30 AM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Temperature: Approximately 24-26°C

Special Marine Life: Our descent into the depths of Tatawa Besar unveiled a magnificent world inhabited by white-tip sharks, graceful manta rays, the ever-watchful turtles, elusive ribbon eels, lurking moray eels, the regal humphead wrasse, and the awe-inspiring eagle rays.

Dive 4 - Siaba Besar:

Dive Time: 2:30 PM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-27°C

Highlights: The underwater realm of Siaba Besar captivated us with its bustling reef shark activity, the presence of a compact school of barracuda, the elegant jackfish, a mesmerizing fusilier parade, a small congregation of arrow bigeye fish, sightings of the graceful green turtle, the intriguing cuttlefish, and a vivid coral tapestry boasting a plethora of anthias fish amid flourishing plate and branching corals.

After this scintillating dive, we retraced our aquatic path to Sebayur Besar for a night dive, where we would anchor for the evening.

Night Dive 5 - Sebayur Besar:

Dive Time: 6:10 PM

Maximum Depth: 16 meters

Temperature: Approximately 26-28°C

Special Marine Life: As the sun dipped below the horizon, we delved into the mysteries of the night sea, encountering leaf scorpionfish, elusive Whitetip Reef Sharks, beguiling nudibranchs, the elusive bobtail squid, and the ever-enigmatic octopus.

 

January 26th, 2023:

The following morning, our adventure continued as we weighed anchor at the break of dawn, setting a course for central Komodo to commence another day of thrilling underwater exploration.

Dive 6 - Police Corner:

Dive Time: 07:00 AM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-27°C

Highlights: Our descent into the depths revealed the enigmatic presence of a giant moray eel, a bustling assembly of surgeonfish, the graceful gliding of reef sharks, the stately congregation of black snapper, the mesmerizing manta rays, and a dramatic overhang that added a touch of grandeur to our underwater journey.

Dive 7 - Tatawa Kecil:

Dive Time: 10:40 AM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-27°C

Special Marine Life: Our underwater foray at Tatawa Kecil was adorned with the charms of black snapper, the graceful presence of reef sharks, the bustling schools of jackfish, the graceful octopus, the ever-charming turtles, and the vibrant hard and soft coral gardens. We savored this exploration amid gentle currents, making for an even more enjoyable experience.

Dive 8 - Mawan Island:

Dive Time: 2:30 PM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Temperature: Approximately 24-26°C

Special Marine Life: Our underwater world at Mawan Island treated us to encounters with blacktip reef sharks, the serene glide of turtles, the captivating cuttlefish, and a stroke of luck as we encountered numerous mantas at a cleaning station, a sight that left an indelible mark on our journey.

After our night dive in Sebayur Besar, we set sail back to Padar Island, anchoring once again for the night.

 

January 27th, 2023:

The morning rays of the sun found us en route to NUSA KODE (Horseshoe Bay) for another day of underwater exploration.

Dive 9 - Rodeo Rock:

Dive Time: 07:00 AM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-26°C

Highlights: We delved into the depths and were greeted by the imposing presence of a giant Napoleon wrasse, a school of surgeonfish, agile dogtooth tuna, a congregation of black snapper, and an orchestra of anthias fish swirling around us.

Dive 10 - Yellow Wall:

Dive Time: 10:30 AM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-26°C

Special Marine Life: Our descent revealed the mysterious charm of Whitetip reef sharks, the delicate dance of glassfish, the striking elegance of magnificent fire urchins, the vibrant Red sea apples, and a visually stunning yellow soft coral-adorned wall.

Dive 11 - Cannibal Rock:

Dive Time: 1:30 PM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-26°C

Special Marine Life: Descending into the depths once more, we were treated to the thrilling presence of Whitetip sharks, a watchful moray eel, the regal humphead wrasse, the elusive leaf scorpionfish, a variety of frogfish, the graceful turtle, the ever-watchful octopus, and a bustling group of bluestripe snapper at this pinnacle diving site.

Following our underwater escapades, we made preparations to go ashore, where we had the incredible opportunity to witness the majestic Komodo Dragons basking on the beach. After a 30-minute observation, we returned to the motherboat, brimming with excitement for our next activity.

Dive 12 - Torpedo Alley:

Dive Time: 2:30 PM

Maximum Depth: 16 meters

Temperature: Approximately 26-27°C

Special Marine Life: As the sun dipped below the horizon and the sea embraced the night, we ventured into Torpedo Alley. Our journey unveiled a captivating world of marine life, including the enigmatic coconut octopus, the charming tropical bobtail squid, the graceful armina nudibranch, the agile swimming crab, the artistic decorator crab, the elusive flathead fish, the vibrant flasher scorpionfish, and the intriguing spiny waspfish.

After our night dive, we set sail back to Padar Island, where we anchored for the night.

 

January 28th, 2023:

We were greeted by a sunny morning on Padar Island, setting the perfect backdrop for the day's adventures.

Dive 13- Three Sisters:

Dive Time: 07:00 AM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-26°C

Special Marine Life: Our underwater journey brought us face to face with the majestic giant Napoleon wrasse, a lively school of fusilier, dogtooth tuna darting through the depths, a congregation of bluestripe snapper, and a mesmerizing display of anthias fish enveloping us in their vibrant dance.

Dive 14 - Secret Garden (Wall Site):

Dive Time: 07:00 PM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Temperature: Approximately 26-28°C

Special Marine Life: As the sun dipped below the horizon, we ventured into the enigmatic Secret Garden. Here, we encountered a small school of barracuda, the imposing giant frogfish, scorpionfish in their various forms, leaf scorpionfish, and a compact gathering of spadefish. The site featured mini walls adorned with bush coral, adjacent to a sloping area boasting a stunning soft coral garden.

Dive 15 - Pillarsteen:

Dive Time: 10:30 AM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Temperature: Approximately 26-28°C

Special Marine Life: The final dive of the day took us to Pillarsteen, where we marveled at the presence of reef sharks, the agile dogtooth tuna, the majestic giant trevally, the elusive day octopus, a variety of nudibranchs, and the elegant scorpionfish. The site featured a vertical wall adorned with lush soft corals, adding to the underwater spectacle.

After the dive, we dried off and prepared for an exciting hike on Padar Island, known as the icon of Labuan Bajo. The hike offered a chance to savor the natural beauty of the island, providing a delightful exercise for our guests. As the sun began to set, we returned to the ship, eagerly anticipating the night dive ahead.

Dive 16 - Padar Kecil:

Dive Time: 06:00 PM

Maximum Depth: 15 meters

Temperature: Approximately 25-26°C

Special Marine Life: The night dive in Padar Kecil revealed a captivating world of marine creatures, including the elusive stonefish, the charming frogfish, the enchanting leaf scorpionfish, the captivating spiny devilfish, the mystical starry night octopus, the golden cuttlefish, the dwarf cuttlefish, and the intriguing bobtail squid.

 

January 29th, 2023:

At around 4:30 AM, we began preparations to lift anchor and embark on a journey to Langkoi, south of Komodo Island. Arriving half an hour before the first dive, we were ready to explore the underwater wonders of the region.

Dive 17 - Manta Alley (Cleaning Stations):

Dive Time: 07:00 AM

Maximum Depth: 30 meters

Highlights: Our descent into Manta Alley led us to encounters with the majestic Napoleon wrasse, a giant moray eel emerging from its cave, the graceful white-tip shark, the imposing giant trevally, the elegant blue-ribbon eel, sweetlips, the magnificent bumphead parrotfish, prawns, and the captivating manta rays.

Dive 14 - Manta Alley:

Dive Time: 10:00 AM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Special Marine Life: Our second dive at Manta Alley presented us with the delightful sight of a day octopus, a small congregation of bluestripe snapper, sightings of blue-spotted rays, moray eels, and the ever-graceful manta rays.

Following our second dive, we lifted anchor and set course for a trekking adventure at Loh Liang.

Trekking Komodo Island:

Trekking Time: 3:00 PM

Highlights: Our trekking expedition on Komodo Island offered the opportunity to witness the iconic Komodo Dragon, along with the company of crows, Flores Deer, the majestic yellow-crested cockatoo, and a variety of other bird species.

After trekking, we raised anchor once more and made our way to Lasa Island for a night dive.

Night Dive 18 - Lasa Island:

Dive Time: 06:00 PM

Maximum Depth: 16 meters

Highlights: The night dive at Lasa Island unveiled a mesmerizing world of marine life, including octopus, cuttlefish, ambon scorpionfish, stingrays, and frogfish.

Following the night dive, we settled in for the night, remaining anchored at Lasa Island.

 

January 30th, 2023:

Around 4:30 AM, we began preparations to lift anchor and set course back to central Komodo. Arriving half an hour before the first dive, we were poised for another day of underwater exploration.

Dive 19 - Pengah Kecil:

Dive Time: 07:00 AM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Highlights: Our descent into Pengah Kecil brought us into the company of moray eels, graceful turtles, elusive pygmy seahorses, a bustling group of platax, jackfish, rainbow runners, and an enchanting array of anthias fish adorning acropora coral.

Dive 20 - Batu Bolong:

Dive Time: 10:30 AM

Maximum Depth: 25 meters

Highlights: Batu Bolong unveiled its treasures, including Napoleon wrasses, unicorn fish, great snapper, oriental sweetlips,  sweetlips, and a lively congregation of jackfish.

After the final dive, the ship's sails were unfurled, and we made our way back to Labuan Bajo, a journey lasting just 30 minutes. We arrived in Labuan Bajo around 5:00 PM.

 

December 31st, 2023:

On this day, guests concluded their unforgettable journey and checked out from the ship, taking with them cherished memories of their Komodo National Park adventure.
