Arrival Day – Saturday 4th May 2024
The guests arrived at 3pm and were welcomed with cold drinks. After checking in, our guests looked around the boat and relaxed enjoying the pizza made by our chef. The boat safety briefing took place and then dinner was served. After dinner, all equipment was set up and guests went to bed ready for a great week of diving to start!
Day 1 – Sunday 5th May 2024
Guests were woken at 7.00am and enjoyed their hot breakfast while we waited for the approval from the coast guard to leave. Permissions granted the captain fired up the engines and we departed to our first dive site of the week. Guests enjoyed a hot breakfast and the general dive briefing.
Dive 1 – Poseidon Reef a mooring dive from the back of the boat. Guests kitted up did a full buddy check before jumping in the water. Guests checked their weight and equipment and descended to a max depth of 10m/30ft to explore the reef on the right then back again. Nice easy check dive to get everyone comfortable in the water.
Lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 2.
Dive 2 – Beacon Rock Another mooring dive from the back of the boat. Guests kept the reef and slope om the left then back again to the boat. Stunning reef with fantastic corals and home to 1000s of fish. Maximum depth 20m/60ft. Marine life; moray eels, 6x stone fish including the rare pink stone fish, jacks, gobies and much more.
Snacks were served and guests relaxed before the night dive.
Dive 3 – Night dive Beacon Rock famous for its moray eels. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and explored the reef area around the boat. Our fantastic dive guests saw pink stone fish, very large moray eels, 2x Spanish dancers, pencil sea urchins and much more.
After the dive dinner was served and guests relaxed after a great first day!
Day 2 – Monday 6th May 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – Dunraven Wreck One of the oldest wrecks in the Red Sea which sits completely upside down. Guests took a short tender ride and descended to the wreck. We explored the outside of the wreck and then entered via the stern which is like an empty cave. Guests saw large boilers and exited the wreck heading back to the beautiful reef and back to the boat. Guests were able to see large groupers, eels, stone fish and much more.
After the dive breakfast was served and guests relaxed while the captain moved the boat to Ras Mohamed
Dive 2 – Jackfish Alley Drift from the big boat. Guests all got ready and waited on the platform as the captain reversed the boat to the reef. Guests jumped in after each other and descended onto the reef. Keeping the reef right at 5m/15ft through a small swim through and continued along the main reef. Nice relaxing dive. Marine life we got to see were moray ells, lion fish, napoleon wrasse, anemone city with many clown fish, titan trigger fish and much more.
Lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – Ras Katy a short tender ride away close to the shore of Sharm. A great gentle after noon dive keeping the reef left all the way slowly drifting around the coral garden and smb and pick up by the tender. A beautiful coral formations over the reef and a lot of marine life. Guests were able to see butterfly fish, banner fish, scorpion fish and much more.
Snacks were served after the dive and the guests relaxed.
Dive 4 – Temple Reef close to the shore of Sharm El Sheik. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and swam to the main reef. Shallow dive maximum 11m/33ft guests kept the reef on the right then back again. Excellent night dive with a lot of marine life. Guests saw moray eel, cuttlefish and much more.
Guests enjoyed dinner and relax before bed.
Day 3 – Tuesday 7th May 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – Ras Umm Sid a short tender ride away close to the shore of Sharm. A great gentle morning dive keeping the reef left all the way slowly drifting around the coral garden and smb and pick up by the big boat. Huge fan corals, beautiful coral formations over the reef and a lot of marine life. Guests saw; tuna, barracuda, jacks, butterfly fish, banner fish, scorpion fish and much more.
After the dive the breakfast was served.
Dive 2 – Jackson Reef one of the top 5 reef dives in the world. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and descended on to the amazing wall seeing 1000s of fish, a school of banner fish, trevallies, large tuna, clown fish and beautiful soft and hard corals like diving in an aquarium! A truly magical dive loved by all!
After the dive lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – Thomas Reef at Tiran Island a 10 minute tender ride away. Guests descended on to the reef. We started with the reef on the left and explored the reef before turning back reef left due to the current changing at the corner. A great early morning dive! Tender pick up. Marine life; tuna, groupers, 2 x barracuda, trevallies, large fan corals and much more.
Snacks was served and guests relaxed before dive 4.
Dive 4 – Night dive from the back of the boat at Gordon Reef. A very shallow reef then a sandy slope with pinnacles under our boat. Very easy night dive one for guests to relax and explore. Guests saw; flatworms, lion fish, gobies, and much more.
Guests enjoyed dinner and relax before bed.
Day 4 – Wednesday 8th May 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – Gordon Reef a dive from the back of the boat. Guests jumped and descended keeping the reef on the left all the way. Guests went to the drop off and found a small baby white reef shark . A fantastic relaxing drift dive enjoyed by all with lots of different marine life.
After the dive the breakfast was served.
Dive 2 – Shark & Yolanda reef another famous dive site. The captain reversed the boat to Shark Reef and everyone was ready to jump at the same time and descended down to Shark reef. Another reef like an aquarium completely covered in soft and hard coral with 1000s of fish. Over the saddle to Yolanda reef which has the remains of the remains of the cargo of the Yolanda wreck which now sits over 200m deep. The cargo is old bathtubs and toilets with the captains BMW car. A green sea turtle joined the guests. Then over to satellite reef where there is a large salad coral great for pictures covered in anthias fish.
After the dive lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – Dive 3 – SS Thistlegorm a full guided tour inside the wreck. With only 7 divers this week made a perfect small group. We jumped and followed the line to the wreck. We then entered the wreck in the lower hold 25m / 80ft and circled the lower level seeing all the trucks, bikes, plane wings and much more. The upper level at 20m/60ft seeing even more impressive cargo 1000s rifles and much more. Over the bow decks guest were able to see the marine life, through the captains bridge and back to our boat. An impressive dive like going through a WWII Museum.
Snacks was served and guests relaxed before the last night dive of the week.
Dive 4 – A night dive on the SS Thistlegorm one of the most famous night dives! Guests were guided inside the hold to see the cargo, half of the inside covered ready for the mornings tour. The resident sea turtle was seen with much more marine life. A fantastic dive!
Guests enjoyed dinner and relax before bed.
Day 5 – Thursday 9th May 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – SS Thistlegorm the most famous WWII wreck. Guests kitted up and descended down the line to the decks of the Thistlegorm, out to the locomotive and around the wreck on the left. Seeing the large guns on the stern the Impressive propeller and back over the blast area which is covered with ammunitions shells. Over to the bow where 1000s of fish live around the winches saw the 2nd anchor and over the coal carriers and right over the holds before heading back to the line. A great tour of the outside of the wreck.
After the dive the breakfast was served
Dive 2 – Carnatic wreck one of the oldest wrecks in the north side of the Red Sea which has been underwater for more than 100 years. The captain tied the boat above the wreck and the guests descended on top of the wreck and did a circuit of the outside of the wreck. They were are able to seeing the propeller, stern, collapsed area the boiler and back to the bow. As we went around we saw crocodile fish, scorpion fish, nudi branc and much more. Penetrated the stern nice and open inside and back to the bow. We entered into the bow to the top level to see the glass fish down over the port bottles.
Lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – Giannis D one of the most famous wrecks here in Egypt. We descended on to the wreck around the stern. Guests explored the stern before entering the wreck and going inside the impressive 6 cylinder engine room and down to the crew accommodation area. After the stern we went over to the bow to see the remaining of the cargo wood and the impressive bow mast and winches. Then back over to the stern to see the funnel with the big letter D. Great dive guests saw jacks, scorpion fish, anthias, pipe fish, a very large puffer fish and much more.
Snacks was served and guests relaxed before the last night dive of the week.
Dive 4 – Small Giftun an easy mooring dive for the night dive. Guests jumped from the back of the boat kept the reef on the right and then back reef on the left. Guests saw large moray eels, cuttlefish, shrimps, Spanish dancer and much more.
We celebrated the week with a special dinner and watched the video of the week.
Day 6 – Friday 10th May 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – Erg Somaya guests took the zodiac around the reef and descended keeping the reef on the right drifting with the current. A fantastic dive very relaxing with a beautiful reef and 1000s of fish. Guests saw; moray eels, napoleon wrasse, lion fish and much more.
After the dive the breakfast was served.
Dive 2 – Small Giftun reef guests jumped from the back of the boat kept the reef on the lift and then back the reef on the right back to the boat. Guests were able to see moray eels, napoleon wrasse, lion fish and much more.
We celebrated the week with our cocktail party J
