Before dawn, the Belize Aggressor IV departed Fort George Marina, gliding toward Turneffe Caye beneath a glowing sunrise. The excitement of the first dives filled the air as we explored Front Porch and Julie’s Jungle. The reefs were alive with color large basket sponges, sea fans, queen and French angelfish, and brilliant tube sponges. Divers spotted arrow blennies, channel clinging crabs, Caribbean and slipper lobsters, southern stingrays, schooling blue tangs, ocean triggerfish, and even a few nurse and Caribbean reef sharks. Highlights of the day included several spotted eagle rays, a massive loggerhead turtle, and the elusive white-spotted toadfish—a fantastic start to the week!

Today’s dives at Lighthouse Wall and Inspiration Reef offered some of the best conditions of the trip. Five dives revealed a kaleidoscope of life: schools of blue tangs, Creole wrasse, hogfish, midnight parrotfish, and queen angelfish. Divers also enjoyed encounters with yellow and southern stingrays, giant tunicates, neck crabs, yellowhead jawfish, and both nurse and black groupers. Curious Nassau groupers followed divers closely throughout the dives, while squids and octopuses added some excitement during the evening dive.

Tuesday, October 28
The adventure continued at Chain Wall and Half Moon Caye Wall, two of Lighthouse Reef’s most iconic sites. With calm seas and superb visibility, divers explored walls blanketed in sea fans and soft corals. Basket stars, friendly Nassau groupers, blue parrotfish, and several giant hermit crabs kept everyone entertained. Sightings also included arrow blennies, arrow crabs, and a surprising number of queen conchs on the sandy flats. Big barracuda and porcupinefish hovered curiously in the blue, while Caribbean reef sharks, southern and Caribbean whiptail stingrays, a green turtle, and multiple spotted eagle rays made for unforgettable encounters. The day wrapped up with several sightings of octopuses emerging at dusk.

Mid-week dives took us back to Chain Wall and nearby Elkhorn Reef, two guest favorites that did not disappoint. Conditions were calm, and the light filtering through the shallows painted the reef in gold. Marine life was abundant fairy basslets, rainbow parrotfish, spotted drum, and yellowtail snappers filled the reef. Other sightings included Creole mackerel, goldentail moray eels, juvenile queen angelfish, trumpetfish, rock beauties, and cleaner shrimp tending to their coral stations. Blackcap basslets and neon gobies dotted the coral heads, while sharks, squids, and octopuses rounded out an incredible day underwater.

Thursday, October 30
Our final full day of diving featured two spectacular sites Angelfish Wall at Half Moon Caye and Bulls Bay off Turneffe Caye. The reefs were teeming with life: arrow blennies, banded coral shrimp, brittle stars, bearded fireworms, knobby sea rods, and blushing star corals added bursts of color to every scene. Divers observed southern stingrays and one enormous Caribbean whiptail ray gliding gracefully across the sand. Juvenile spotted drum and goldentail morays peeked from crevices, while ocean triggerfish, barracuda, and mackerel cruised overhead. The highlight of the day came when four huge Caribbean spiny lobsters were discovered sharing a single hole—an amazing sight! Several octopuses and white-spotted toadfish also made appearances, ending the day on a high note.

Our final dives at Black Beauty were a perfect close to an unforgettable week. The reef was alive with activity—queen, French, and gray angelfish glided among colorful sponges while schools of Creole wrasse and yellowtail snapper surrounded the divers. Cero mackerel flashed by in the blue, and tiger and Nassau groupers cruised the reef. Green and spotted moray eels peered from their dens, while nurse and Caribbean reef sharks patrolled the wall. A curious hawksbill turtle and several white-spotted toadfish made special farewell appearances.

As the dives concluded, guests returned to the yacht to wash gear and celebrate at the cocktail party, reminiscing about their favorite moments from the week. Laughter, stories, and toasts filled the salon as everyone agreed—it had been a week to remember aboard the Belize Aggressor IV.
