Facts About The Nile River, Egypt
- Egypt lies in the North Eastern tip of North Africa and borders the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the Red Sea joined by the Suez Canal, on the western side of the Sinai Peninsula. The Nile River runs through Egypt from the Southern Sudan into the Mediterranean Sea.
- The official language of Egypt is Arabic, but manyof the people in the tourist resorts also speak English and French.

Getting There, Passports & Visa Documentation:
The Luxor airport is approximately 25 minutes from where the Aggressor Nile Queen II® docks. Guests will be met on the day of departure in the morning and transferred to the vessel.Visitors must have a current passport, adequate funds to support themselves, and a return airline ticket. US citizens require a passport that must be valid for 6 months from date of entry. It is the travelers’ responsibility to ensure they have the proper visa to travel into each country on his or her itinerary as well as for re-entry and return to their country. Since regulations vary by country, contact your consulate or embassy of your country for the requirement.
Long Distance Ground Transfers between Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada & Port Ghalib:
Long distance ground transfers between main regions of Egypt must be arranged in advance and require a minimum of 7 days advance notice. Due to Egyptian security regulations, these transfers require advance authorization with Egyptian Government officials. The transfer company must provide trip specifics includingNumber of Pax, Guests Names, Nationality, Departure Time, Hotel or Boat Name to/From, -Coach Information, Driver Name and Representative or Tour Guide Name in order to obtain written permission for the trip to occur. Because of this last-minute reservations or changes to a transfer (such as changing departure times, revising the destination, or adding a new friend at the last minute) are not permitted.
Arrival/Boarding/Departure:
Luxor Airport transfers are included if arriving on the day the river cruise begins and to the Aswan Airport on the day the river cruise ends. Those making their own way may board the Nile Queen II at 10AM on the day the river cruise begins.At the end of your trip, you will awake to the beautiful sight of the desert closing in on the river at Aswan Bridge. Check out is 8:00am. Guests have the option to visit the Aswan Philae Temple, High Dam and Unfinished Obelisk, and lunch at a local restaurant. This tour ends at 2:00pm and is included in your package price.
For guests doing the Abu Simbel Trip:
Abu Simbel: Guests will depart at 7:00am to meet your guide and visit the High Dam. Staff will transfer guests to the airport to take a short flight to Abu Simbel around 10:00am. Guests will have the chance to visit Abu Simbel Temple and fly back to Aswan to meet your guide at around 1:45pm. You will have the chance to visit the Philae Temple & the Unfinished Obelisk and then proceed back to the Aswan airport around 6:55pm.
Guests may also depart in the morning or after your tour to Abu Simbel by domestic flight or continuing your holiday. For details on Abu Simbel, please contact our travel department, info@aggressortravel.com.
Transfers For Combining Red Sea Aggressor II & IV With Nile Queen®
For guests traveling on the Red Sea Aggressor II & IV combined with the Nile Queen II, transfers can be arranged for you and are scheduled at the below times. There is an additional charge for this and reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance.Nile Queen II to Red Sea Aggressor II & IV and Aggressor Floating Resort, Hurghada
* 11 am - Depart Aswan to Hurghada to board the Red Sea Aggressor II & Aggressor Floating Resort
* 10 am - Depart Aswan to Port Ghalib to board the Red Sea Aggressor IV
Red Sea Aggressor II & IV and Aggressor Floating Resort, Hurghada to Nile Queen II
* 7 am - Depart Hurghada to Luxor to board the Nile Queen II
* 6 am - Depart Port Ghalib to Luxor to board the Nile Queen II
Local Fees/Taxes
Upon arrival to Egypt, all guests must pay an entry visa of $25. They do not offer a multi-entry visa. (subject to change without notice). If guests would like to purchase a visa in advance, please visit: https://visa2egypt.gov.eg/eVisa/FAQ
Transfers and entrance fees to the historical sites are included in the price of your trip. There is a USD $80 port fee that will be collected from you at the end of the week which may be paid by Visa, Mastercard, or cash. The Nile Queen does not accept travelers checks due to the banks not accepting them. There is a 14% Value Added Tax (VAT) required by the Egyptian Federal Law for all onboard billings for any retail or service added to your bill that includes port fees, park fees and clothing & gifts sales.
Arrangements can be made for transfers from Hurghada, Port Ghalib, and Aswan to/from the Luxor Airport (LXR) for an additional price. Please contact our travel department at info@aggressortravel.com for pricing and details.
Note Important Restriction: The Egyptian Government forbids international tourists from carrying drone aircraft into the country. If you do enter Egypt with a drone aircraft, the Egyptian Government warns they will confiscate the drone.
GRATUITIES
Gratuities are not included at all Aggressor destinations. Tipping is voluntary and based on the service the staff has provided you. The Manager will provide envelopes for gratuities upon settling your account at the end of the week. Gratuities are shared equally among all staff. All Aggressors accept cash, Visa, and MasterCard payments for gratuities.
