Itinerary; Northern wrecks and reefs

General Conditions; Air temperature around 30+degrees. Water temperature is around 27-28 degrees (recommended 3mm wetsuit.)

Arrival Day – Saturday 3rd September 2022

The guests started to arrive around 3pm and were welcomed with a cold drink. After check in guests looked around the boat and relaxed enjoying the pizza made by our chef. The boat briefing took place and then dinner was served. After dinner, all equipment was set up and guests went to bed ready for a great week of diving to start!

Day 1 – Sunday 4th September 2022

Guests were woken at 7.00am and enjoyed their hot breakfast while we waited for the approval from the coast guard to leave. Permissions granted the captain fired up the engines and we departed to our first dive site of the week. Guests enjoyed a hot breakfast and the general dive briefing.

Dive 1 – Sha’ab El Erg. Also known as Dolphin house.  Guests enjoyed the reef and explored the area before coming back to the boat. Nice easy mooring dive with a maximum depth of 12m/35ft.  Marine life; gobies, shrimps, stonefish, eels, butterfly and banner fish and much more.

Lunch was served and the captain moved the boat to Gubal Island.

Dive 2 –– The Barge. An old canal Barge sat at 15m / 45ft famous for its marine life. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and explored the area in and around the Barge looking for marine life. This dive did not disappoint guests saw the famous giant moray George and his family, white peppered moray, scorpion fish, crocodile fish, trumpet fish, 100s sergeant major , octopus and much more!

Snacks were served and guests relaxed before the night dive.

Dive 3 – The Barge night dive at Gubal Island. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and explored the barge under our boat and surrounding areas. A great relaxing dive with a maximum depth of 15m/45ft. Guests saw; squid, large moray eels, scorpion fish and much more.

Day 2 – Monday 5th September 2022

Guests were woken at 6:00am.

Dive 1 - Ulysses wreck at the back side of Gubal Island one of the oldest wrecks in the north Red Sea. Guests boarded the tenders for a 15minute ride around the reef and descended on top of the wreck. They explored the outside seeing the propeller covered in soft coral and seeing the rare nudi decorated flabellina before going inside the open wreck which is completely covered in soft coral. Over to the mast and then to the reef and drifted around the reef, SMB finish. Guests saw moray eels, nudis, blue spotted rays, tuna and 1000s fish!

After the dive breakfast was served and guests relaxed while the captain moved the boat crossed the shipping channel to Shag Rock.

Dive 2 – The Kingston Is over 100 years old and now looks like a reef covered in hard and soft corals and home to 100s of fish. Once the wreck was explored guests drifted around the reef over the most beautiful table top corals and were then picked up by the tender. Marine life saw – lion fish, glass fish, trigger fish, groupers, surgeon fish, 1000s of migrating goat fish and fusiliers and much more.

Snacks was served and the captain moved to Sha’ab Mahmoud.

Dive 3 – Dunraven Wreck one of the oldest wrecks in the Red Sea which sits completely upside down. Guests Jumped from the back of the main boat and descended to the wreck. We explored the outside of the wreck and then entered via the stern which is like an empty cave. Guests saw large boilers and exited the wreck heading back to the beautiful reef and back to the boat. Guests saw large groupers, eels, stone fish and much more.

After the dive lunch was served and the captain moved the boat to Ras Mohamed National Park.

Dive 4 – Night dive Beacon Rock, famous for its moray eels. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and explored the reef area around the boat. A fantastic dive. Guests saw; pink stone fish, very large moray eels, 2 x Spanish dancers, pencil sea urchins and much more.

After the dive dinner was served and guests relaxed after a great day!

Day 3 – Tuesday 6th September 2022

Guests were woken at 5:30am.

Continental Breakfast was ready before the 1st dive briefing  

Dive 1 – Shark & Yolanda reef, A very famous dive site.  The captain reversed the boat to Satellite Reef and everyone was ready to jump at the same time and descended down to Yolanda reef. Another reef like an aquarium completely covered in soft and hard coral with 1000s of fish and has the remains of the cargo of the Yolanda wreck which now sits over 200m deep. The cargo is old bathtubs and toilets with the captains BMW car. A green sea turtle joined the guests.. Over the saddle to Shark reef which has a massive wall full of corals and schools of diferent fish then we had our gift !!!!!!!!!!!!! A WHALE SHARK!

Breakfast was served and the guest are very happy and looking forward to 2nd dive at Tiran Island.

Dive 2 – Jackson Reef South. One of the top 5 reef dives in the world. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and descended on to the amazing wall seeing 1000s of fish, a school of banner fish, trevallies, large tuna, clown fish and beautiful soft and hard corals.

After the dive lunch was served and guests relaxed before the 3rd dive.

Dive 3 – Woodhouse Reef. A short tender ride away. Guests took the zodiac to the reef and drifted with the current around the reef seeing the top of the deep Plato at the first 3rd of the reef and sow a WIGHT TIP REEF SHARK  sleeping at the bottom! Stunning reef covered in marine life. The current got stronger and stronger allowing the guests to enjoy the ride before sending SMB and ending dive after 60mins.

Snacks were served and guests are relaxed waiting the night dive.

Dive 4 – Temple reef. Nice easy shallow night dive maximum depth 15m/45ft. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and descended to the reef take a tour around the reef and back to the boat. Guest sow Lion fish, Octopus, Spanish dancer and more.   

Dinner was served after the dive.

Day 4 – Wednesday 7th September 2022

Guests were woken at 05:30 am.

Dive 1 – Ras Umm Sid. A short tender ride away close to the shore of Sharm. A great gentle morning dive keeping the reef left all the way slowly drifting around the coral garden and SMB and pick up by the big boat. Huge fan corals, beautiful coral formations over the reef and a lot of marine life. Guests saw; tuna, barracuda, jacks, butterfly fish, banner fish, scorpion fish and much more.

After the dive breakfast was served.

Dive 2 – Jackfish Alley. Drift from the big boat. Guests all got ready and waited on the platform as the captain reversed the boat to the reef. Guests jumped in after each other and descended onto the reef. Keeping the reef right at 5m/15ft through a small swim through and continued along the main reef. Nice relaxing drift dive. Marine Life; Barcoda ,Jack Fish, Triger fish and masked buffer fish.

Lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.

Dive 3 – Ss. Thistlegorm. The wreck highlight of the week. We descended down the line to do the outside tour of the Thistlegorm. Started with the portside locomotive then kept the wreck on the left over to the stern to see the blast area full of ammunition, the large stern machine guns and back to the bow. Saw all the gun cases, shells and the outside of the wreck. Great dive with batfish, large napoleon wrasse, scorpion fish, clown fish and much more.

Guests enjoyed snacks and relax before the night dive.

Dive 4 - Night dive was the mighty Thistlegorm again. A small group were taken inside the hold seeing all the impressive cargo! An excellent dive described as the

best dive of the trip so far!

Dinner was served and guests enjoyed their evening before bed.

Day 5 – Thursday 8th September 2022

Guests were woken at 6.00am and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive 1.

Dive 1 - This dive was a complete inside tour of the Thistlegorm. Guests followed the guide into the lower level of the wreck seeing all the rifles, trucks, battery covers, motorcycles, plane spare wings before heading to the upper level seeing more motorcycles and trucks. The inside is like a WWII museum. We also saw a lot of marine life including  batfish, jacks, nudi brancs, scorpion fish and much more.

Breakfast was served and the guests relaxed before dive 2.

Dive 2 – Tile Wreck. A short tender ride away around the reef. Guests descended on top of the wreck, swam to the funnel and watched the eels in the eel garden around the stern and entered the wreck seeing all the Italian granite floor tiles and cargo. Through the holds and into the workshop area and around the wreck. Over to the bridge where they saw the galley with the oven still intact. Lots of marine life on the wreck including the beautiful Arabian surgeon fish.

Lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.

Dive 3 – Giannis D. Another famous wreck in the North Red Sea. Guests boarded the tenders for a short ride to the wreck. Surface conditions a little rough today. The guests opted for a full tour inside the engine room which is an impressive engine and tight corridors to the accommodation area. Around the wreck was a lot of marine life including diving with dolphins, glass fish, large groupers, clown fish, large eel, blue spotted ray and much more.

Guests enjoyed snacks and relax before the night dive.

Dive 4 – Um Gammar Island. We descended to the reef keeping the reef on the lift. Nice easy night dive with max depth 14m/45ft. Guests saw; clown fish, banner fish, Spanish dancer. butterfly fish and blue spotted ray.

Dinner was served after the dive.

Day 6 – Friday 9th September 2022

Guests were woken at 5.30am and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive 1.

Dive 1 - Um Gammar Island. A great early dive. Guests saw jelly fish, nudis, angle fish and much more.

Breakfast was served and the guests relaxed before dive 2.

Dive 2 – Um Gammar Island. A nice last dive of the week relaxing dive with a beautiful reef and lots of fish. Guests saw; moray eels, napoleon wrasse, lion fish and much more.

After lunch payments were taken and we celebrated the week with our cocktail party.
