Saturday- We welcomed everyone onboard on a glorious Saturday afternoon. We have just spent a week renovating the boat so are very excited to show off the hardwork. We have a new carpet on the sundeck, a new carpet in the restaurant salon and a fresh coat of paint in the salon. Everyone found a spot on the spacious dive deck and set up their gear afterwhich which they were shown to their cabins. Following the guests received a safety briefing delivered by Captain Casey and First Mate Charlotte. After the briefing everyone gathered at muster station one to put on life jackets and visit the life rafts and muster station two. We finished by walking backwards down the stairs. After the vessel orientation guests gathered in the restaurant salon to enjoy their first meal together.

Sunday- We dropped lines at 6am and headed out into the channel with the rise of the sun. This week is forcasted to be low winds so we should have access to some wonderful dive sites. We begin our week anchoring in Priavateer Bay, Norman Island. Divers met in the salon after breakfast for the Dive Safety Briefing, delivered by Casey and Charlotte and explaining the what where and how we do in the BVI. Finally! Time to go diving! Everyone gathered on the dive deck to change in to wetsuits and make final preparations for scuba! For the checkout dive we visited Angel Fish Reef, with a sandy bottom this is a great site to get comfortable. We explored some of formations and saw jaw fish poke their head up from the sand. Upon return to the mother ship sonia our chef was waiting for us with snacks and warm towels. Tanks were filled and we headed back out for another dive before lunch. In the afternoon we ventured to The Indians where we found a green turtle having fun in the sand and a Nurse Shark sleeping under a rock.

Monday- This morning we move around the corner of Norman Island to Baneures Bay. Our first dive of the day is to the exciting Santa Monica Rock. Today the resident reef sharks were waiting to greet us! We also found a big Nurse shark resting under a rock. There was a current and surge ontop of the reef however the dive site was still beautiful. For our second dive of the day we ventured to the Willy T-yaaaaarrr! Embracing our inner Pirates we hunted for sunken treasure, looked out the crows nest and walked the plank! One of our divers also completed their peak performance  bouyancy course on this dive using the outside wreck as a play ground. In the afternoon the ocean was calm enough for us to visit Brown Pants. This is a shallow dive with rock formations and a stunning swim through.

Tuesday- We rise with the sun and move the boat to Great Harbour, we are anchoring in the same bay as the RMS Rhone before its catastrophe. The weather this week is spledid so for the first dive of the day we visit Blonde Rock. We time the dive perfectly finishing just as the current begins to pick up. On the dive we see a huge variety of life including a walking lobster and spotted moray eel and a school of jacks above our heads. For our second dive of the day we visit the beautiful Painted Walls. With calm waters we were able to swim through the famous arch of painted walls ( the colourful corals that grows on the rock) and into the fish bowl. The fish bowl is a shallow space where the sun shines down and the fish dance over the reef, a true sight to see. For our final dive of the day we visited the Wreck of the Fearless. This is a purposely sunk mine sweeper and the sister ship to Jack Cousteau Calypso. In the evening Charlotte presented to the group about the history of the RMS Rhone because tomorrow we will spend the day diving it.

Wednesday- This morning we pick up anchor and move to Salt Island, the resting place of the RMS Rhone. We spent a marvellous day diving the different sections of the Rhone. We rubbed the lucky porthole, checked out Captain Wolly’s Dance Floor and enjoyed the huge variety of life. We saw an Octopus changing colour, Sharks passing by and at night a free swimming Moray Eel. For one of the afternoon dives we visited Rhone Reef. This was a beautiful dive and as the water was calm we could dive up top on the shallow reef enjoying the canyons and watching the water hit the rocks above. This dive gave us several Eagle Rays too!

Thursday- Today we move anchor to Cooper Island. Our first dive was to Wreck Alley where we visited the four purposely sunk wrecks one of which is upsidedown! In the afternoon we visited Thumb Rock and we were gifted stunning visibility. This was a fabulous dive and all enjoyed hanging out with the Tarpons on the safety stop. Following the dive we took a tender ride to Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda to visit the famous Baths. The Baths is a national park filled with granite rocks which lay on top of each other to create a trail to pass through. Fun was had by all. The day finished with the traditional Thanks Giving Meal.

Friday- Everyone woke up early for our 6am dive. Unfortunately it was raining and everyone know how much divers dislike getting wet…We decided to revisit Thumb Rock because it is close by and gave us such a beautiful dive yesterday. At the turn around point near the Thumb the ocean started to wake up and the fish started to buzz. For our final dive we visited Alice’s Wonderland. This dive site is a mixture of sand channels and coral formations. We found a green turtle, a shark passed us close by and a lobster was seen surrounded by eggs! Back at the boat gear was cleaned and guests enjoyed burgers in paradise whilst we were underway back to Village Cay. At the dock folk were free to disembark and venture around Road Town before rejoining us in the evening for the cocktail party. At the cocktail party we celebrated the week’s successes including our Iron Divers and our diver who completed their nitrox and advanced course whilst onboard. Welldone!!

Saturday-  Captain Casey and her crew  thanks all of you for visiting us on board the BVI Aggressor!

Until next time, all the best in your new adventures!!

Best Wishes,
