January 24th, Wednesday

1st Dive. To do our check dive we went to Sumilon Island, we started diving at the northest part of the island, which is a beautiful coral slope. We watched many black tip and white tip sharks, octopus, Spanish mackerel, giant trevallies, golden trevallies, a school of sardines and a beautiful clown triggerfish.

2nd Dive. For the second dive we went to see the biggest fish in the world, the amazing whale sharks, here in “Oslob” we had 7 of them swimming around us. All the divers had an amazing experience making videos and pictures with these majestic creatures.

3rd Dive. We went back to Sumilon Island to continue our diving day, this time we dove at the South side of the island. another coral slope, with whitetip and blacktip sharks, a turtle, an octopus, a peacock mantis shrimp, a school of unicorn fish, a school of butterfly fish, and 2 dog tooth tunas.

4th Dive. We did a sunset dive to ended up the diving day at the south part of Sumilon Island. This dive site is sandy slope where we could find flonders, some different kind of lionfish, big octopus, squid, 2 cute nudis, candy crab, 2 groupers and a tiny ghost pipefish.

 

January 25th, Thursday

1st Dive. We left Sumilon Island at night to sail to Pamilacan Island, another beautiful island part of Bohol. We did our dive at “Mangrove Tree”. This dive site is a coral slope with lots of beautiful soft and hard corals where we could enjoy a huge school of big eyed jackfish, a  little school of tunas, another school of long-nose emperor fish, school of fusiliers, another school of jacks in the shallow area, red tooth and titan triggerfish, a giant frogfish, and some different nudibranchs.

2nd Dive. For the next dive of the day we went to the dive site called “Mangroove Tree”, quite similar to the previous dive site as they are next to each other. This time we saw a gunnard lizard fish, school of spadefish, barred-fin moray eel, octopus,side-gilled slug, scorpion fish, decorator crab, candy crab, ramer fish and devil scorpion fish.

3rd Dive. Last dive in Pamilacan Island we did it at “The Spanish Tower”, Called like that because there is a 16th Century Spanish fort nearby, it was built by the Spaniards to fight the Muslims pirates coming from the South. We start the dive in a sandy slope and we end it up in a wall with little caves on it. This time we saw 6 huge turtles, pikachu nudibranch, scorpion leaf fish, blue fin trevally, banded sea snake.

4th Dive. To end up our second diving day we did a night dive at “Alona’s House Reef”, this dive site is a wall dive with beautiful corals on top, it was a great dive where we could enjoy watching the pretty harlequin shrimps, bobtail squid, decorator crabs, cuttlefish, Spanish dancer, 2 juvenile octopus, fimbriated moray eel, ringed pipefish, porcupine fish and a cute juvenile lobster.

 

January 26th, Friday

1st Dive.  We spent the night at the south part of Panglao Island to go diving early in the morning at “Alona”s Wreck”, a 15 meters boat that was sunk 20 years ago in front of Alona beach. There we saw a banded sea snake, a group of garden eels, a giant frogfish, a school of snappers, a school of fusiliers, a school of sardines and porcelain crabs.

2nd Dive. After the Wreck,. we went to the dive site called “Danao Wall’, a beautiful wall dive where we could enjoy with 6 banded sea snake, spotted garden eels, yellow boxfish, a nudi called nembrotha cristata, a couple of rigged pipefish, a dragon seamoth, a fimbriated moray eel and a snowflakes moray eel.

3rd Dive. We sailed a bit East in Panglao Island for our next dive and we did it at “Arco Point”, a wall with an arc or swim through which goes from 15 feet to 60 feet deep. There we found a baby lobster, warty frog fish, octopus, candy crab, banded sea snake, ringed pipe fish and spider crab

4th Dive. The weather was rough so we decided to end up our diving day in sheltered area, so we came back to “Alona’s House Reef” to do our night dive, this dive site is a wall dive with beautiful corals on top of it, this second time we enjoyed watching  ornate ghost pipe fish ,banded sea crate,decorator crab,spider crab,flounder,comet fish,whip coral shrimp,banded shrimp,anemone shrimp,bubble coral shrimp and,mushroom coral shrimp.

 

January 27th, Saturday

1st Dive. We sailed during the night to eastern side of Bohol Island, a peninsula called Anda. Our first dive was at “Lumayag” a really beautiful wall with many sea fans and soft corals. There we saw  warty frog fish,sea snake, egg cowrie,comet fish,spider crab,barracuda,nembrotha nudi.

2nd Dive. We did the continuation of Lumayag Wall, and this time we enjoyed with frog fish,mantis shrimp, nudi’s,eeg cowrie, hawksbill turtle ,porcelain shrimp, white eyed moray eel,nemo,coral shrimp and mackerel fish,

3rd Dive. We had another nice wall dive at “Coco White South”. During this wall dive we could find a cuttle fish, hermit crab,spider crab,turtle,nudi’s lion fish,scorpion fish,stripe catfish and snow flake moray eel.

4th Dive. Night dive in Anda we went to “Basdio Marine Sanctuary”, a sandy slope with patches of hard and soft corals where we found bobtail sqiud, cuttle fish, baby squid,nudi’s,flatworm, turtle, sexy shrimp, hexagon crinoid crab, box crab, red spotted guard crab, elegant crinoid,  squat lobster, prawns, banded coral shrimp, bubble shrimp, broken back shrimp, marble coral shrimp and fire worm.

 

January 28th , Sunday

1st Dive. We sailed North until we arrived to Camotes Islands. The first stop was at “The Old Cemetery”, a deep wall with hard and soft corals where we saw a big spanish mackerel. black tip shark, huge scorpion fish and a green turtle.

2nd Dive. We sailed to Tulang Island for the next dive. This is a tiny beautiful island part of Camotes, we went diving to “Parola” a deep wall with lots of sea fans and little caves, a beautiful topography where we saw a warty frog fish, big mouth mackerel, turtle, nudibranch, sexy shrimp, porcelain shrimp, and porcelain crab.

3rd Dive. We stayed in Tulang Island and for the last dive of the day we went to “Cloud 8”, another wall dive with beautiful corals, where we watched a dwarf pipe fish, ringed pipe fish, banded sea snake, an eagle ray and a peacock mantis shrimp.

 

January 29th, Monday

1st Dive. We sailed all night long and we arrived to Malapascua Island. This island got it’s name from the Spanish sailors, because when they arrived to this island, they wrecked their ship during eastern, having a very bad time (mala=bad-Pascua=eastern). This island is the home of the thresher sharks, and “Kimud Shoal” is the best place in the world to watch these magnificent creatures. We had a great first dive watching the sharks, all our guest could enjoy seeing them, the sharks came so close that we had great pictures and videos.

2nd Dive. This second dive we went to the other side of “Kimud Shoal”, at this time there were just few other divers from the local dive shops so we had the thresher sharks almost only for us and we had an amazing dive, the sharks came so close to us that we almost could touch them. We also saw a school unicorn surgeon fish, a school of juvenile cat fish, some midnight snappers, a school of barracudas, a school of fusiliers and an octopus.

3rd Dive. The weather was quite rough so we decided to get sheltered in Malapascua Island and we went diving to the calmest area which was “The Lighthouse”, and there we enjoyed watching mushroom coral shrimp, flatworm, octopus ,trevally, batfish, and a cuttlefish.

4th Dive. To end up the day we had a sunset dive at “The Lighthouse” to see the mandarin fish, the best time to watch them is at sunset because they usually mate at this time of the day, and we had a great experience watching the mandarin fish, some divers had them very close and they made very beautiful pictures.

 

January 30th, Tuesday

1st Dive. Early in the morning we sailed from Malapascua Island to the former home of the thresher sharks “Monad Shoal”, we were used to see them there until September last year and we can still see them there sometimes. This time we were looking for tiger sharks that lives there and we didn’t find them. Instead we saw some white tip sharks, unicorn surgeon fish, dog tooth tunas, rough triggerfish and midnight snappers.

2nd Dive. For the next dive we went back to “Kimud Shoal” to watched again the magnificent thresher sharks, and we had a great experience having them swimming around us some times 4 at the same time, they were quite curious because we remained all together trying to don’t scare them with the bubbles and they came very close to us, so we did great videos and pictures.

3rd Dive. We sailed to Malapascua Island, to get sheltered from the bad weather and we did our next dive at “Deep Rock”, a big submarine pinacle surrounded by a sandy slope where we found  2 dragon seamoth, 3 Candy crab, lion fish, moray eel and a yellow frog fish

4th Dive. Last dive of the day was night dive at “Evolution”, a sandy slope where we could find again the mandarin fish, bobtail squid, squat lobster coneshell squid, stone fish, snake eel, helmet sheel egg, cowrie crinoid fish and crinoid shrimp.

 

January 31st, Wednesday

1st Dive. We went back to “Kimud Shoal” to say goodbye to the magnificent thresher sharks, and we had a great experience having them swimming around us, some times we had five of them around us at the same time, they were quite curious because we remained all together trying to don’t scare them with the bubbles and they came very close to us, so we did great videos and pictures.

 2nd Dive. Last dive with the thresher sharks in “Kimud Shoal”, another beautiful dive with five of them swimming around us, very good pictures and videos on our last dives with the threshers sharks.

3rd Dive. We kept sailing South and we stopped at Capitancillo Island, Capitancillo means in Spanish little Captain, and is a beautiful tiny island surrounded by stunning coral reefs. We saw hundreds of Anthias, scorpion fish, school of sardines and fusiliers swimming together and many other reef fish swimming around of huge table corals.

4th Dive. Night dive at Capitancillo Island, many anthias again in the shallower area, an octopus, scorpion fish and plenty of nudibranchs.

 

February 1st, Thursday

1st Dive. Our last diving day, we sailed at night to get near Cebu and we stopped at “Hilutongan Island” which is a marine sanctuary full of life. This Dive site is wall which upper part is full of sea life. In the shallow area we could enjoy with a school of giant trevallies, a school of needle fish and a school of rabbit fish, in the deeper part we had a school of batfish and many groupers and at the end of the dive we saw a big school of sardines.

2nd Dive. The visibility was so good at Hilutongan Island that we decided to dive in the other part of the wall and we saw again the school of giant trevallies, the school of batfish, a really cute small frogfish and a big school of sardines.
