Arrival Day – Saturday 2nd March 2024
The guests arrived at 3pm and were welcomed with a cold drink. After check in guests looked around the boat and relaxed enjoying the pizza made by our chef. The boat safety briefing took place and then dinner was served. After dinner, all equipment was set up and guests went to bed ready for a great week of diving to start!
Day 1 – Sunday 3rd March 2024
Guests were woken at 7.00am and enjoyed their hot breakfast while we waited for the approval from the coast guard to leave. Permissions granted the captain fired up the engines and we departed to our first dive site of the week. Guests enjoyed a hot breakfast and the general dive briefing.
Dive 1 – Sha’ab El Erg we were welcomed with a pod of dolphins when we were kitting up. Check dive a nice easy dive from the back of the boat. Guests jumped in did weight checks and checked equipment before descending down and following the reef on the right. Guests explored the reef and came back to the boat. Practiced smb deployment also. Guests saw clown fish, angel fish and much more.
Lunch was served and the captain moved to Gubal island.
Dive 2 –The Barge. An old canal Barge sat at 15m / 45ft famous for its marine life. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and explored the area in and around the Barge looking for marine life. This dive did not disappoint guests saw the famous giant moray George and his family, white peppered moray, scorpion fish, crocodile fish, trumpet fish, 100s sergeant major , octopus and Dolphins J J!
Snacks was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – The Barge. Excellent night dive from the back of the boat with a maximum depth of 15m / 45ft.Guests explored the Barge around the area. Guests saw moray eels, squid, trevallies and much more.
Dinner was served and guests enjoyed their evening before bed after a fantastic first day.
Day 2 – Monday 4th March 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – The Barge and the Gubal main reef. We take the zodiac and dropped in the bay at the main reef of gubal island drifted back to the big boat. Guests sow moray eel, buffer fish, lion fish and more.
After the dive breakfast was served and guests relaxed while the captain moved the boat to Ras Mohamed
Dive 2 – Kingston is over 100 years old and now looks like a reef covered in hard and soft corals and home to 100s of fish. Once the wreck was explored guests drifted around the reef over the most beautiful table top corals and were then picked up by the tender. Marine life saw – lion fish, glass fish, trigger fish, groupers, surgeon fish, 1000s of migrating goat fish and fusiliers and much more.Lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – SS Thistlegorm A full guided tour inside the wreck. With only 7 divers this week made a perfect small group. We jumped and followed the line to the wreck. We then entered the wreck in the lower hold 25m / 80ft and circled the lower level seeing all the trucks, bikes, plane wings and much more. Then to the upper level at 20m/60ft seeing even more impressive cargo 1000s rifles and much more. Then over the bow decks to see the marine life, through the captains bridge and back to our boat. An impressive dive like going through a WWII museum.
Snacks were served and guests relaxed before the night dive.
Dive 4 – A night dive on the SS Thistlegorm, one of the most famous night dives! Guests were guided inside the hold to see the cargo, half of the inside covered ready for the mornings tour. The resident sea turtle was seen with much more marine life. A fantastic dive!
Dinner was served and guests relaxed before bed.
Day 3 – Tuesday 5th March 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – SS Thistlegorm. The most famous WWII wreck. Guests kitted up and descended down the line to the decks of the Thistlegorm, out to the locomotive and around the wreck on the left. Seeing the large guns on the stern the Impressive propeller and back over the blast area which is covered with ammunitions shells. Over to the bow where 1000s of fish live around the winches saw the 2nd anchor and over the coal carriers and right over the holds before heading back to the line. A great tour of the outside of the wreck.
After the dive the breakfast was served.
Dive 2 – SS Thistlegorm. We offered a full guided tour inside the wreck and a full guided tour outside the wreck as well.
After the dive lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – Jackfish Alley A drift from the big boat. Guests all got ready and waited on the platform as the captain reversed the boat to the reef. Guests jumped in after each other and descended onto the reef. Keeping the reef right at 5m/15ft through a small swim through and continued along the main reef. Nice relaxing dive. Marine Life;
Snacks was served and guests relaxed before dive 4.
Dive 4 – Night dive Gordon reef Guests jumped from the back of the boat and sept the reef left close to the reef before heading to the drop off and then back to the boat. Nice easy night dive with lots of marine life. Guests saw lion fish, trevallies and jacks hunting and much more.
Guests enjoyed dinner and relax before bed.
Day 4 – Wednesday 6th March 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – Gordon Reef. Guests jumped back of the boat.. Guests descended on to the reef and kept the reef left to see the shark pool and then drifted with the current .. Guests saw school of clown fish, jacks, tuna, large fan corals and much more.
After the dive the breakfast was served.
Dive 2 – Jackson Reef. One of the top 5 reef dives in the world. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and descended on to the amazing wall seeing 1000s of fish, a school of banner fish, trevallies, large tuna, clown fish and beautiful soft and hard corals like diving in an aquarium! A truly magical dive loved by all!
After the dive lunch was served and guests relaxed before dive 3.
Dive 3 – Ras Umm Sid a short tender ride away close to the shore of Sharm. A great gentle morning dive keeping the reef left all the way slowly drifting around the coral garden and smb and pick up by the big boat. Huge fan corals, beautiful coral formations over the reef and a lot of marine life. Guests saw; tuna, barracuda, jacks, butterfly fish, banner fish, scorpion fish and much more.
Snacks was served and guests relaxed before dive 4.
Dive 4 – Temple Reef close to the shore of Sharm El Sheik. Guests jumped from the back of the boat and swam to the main reef. Shallow dive maximum 11m/33ft guests kept the reef on the right then back again. Excellent night dive with a lot of marine life. Guests saw; moray eel, cuttlefish and much more.
Guests enjoyed dinner and relax before bed.
Day 5 – Thursday 7th March 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – Ras Ghozlani A drift from the big boat. Everyone kitted up and went to the dive platform as the captain reversed the boat to the reef. The captain gave the go ahead and everyone jumped in. Keeping the reef right we slowly drifted around the beautiful reef for 60mins before smb and zodiac pick up. The reef is beautiful covered in marine life. Marine life; moray ells, lion fish, napoleon wrasse, anemone city with many clown fish, titan trigger fish and much more.
After the dive the breakfast was served
Dive 2 – Dunraven Wreck one of the oldest wrecks in the Red Sea which sits completely upside down. Guests took a short tender ride and descended to the wreck. We explored the outside of the wreck and then entered via the stern which is like an empty cave. Guests saw large boilers and exited the wreck heading back to the beautiful reef and back to the boat. Guests saw large groupers, eels, stone fish and much more.
Lunch was served and guests enjoyed the sunshine before dive 3.
Dive 3 – Small Giftun An easy mooring dive from the back of the boat to the main reef the guests kept the reef on the lift hand side 25 min then back reef on the right. The guests enjoyed the dive,did the safety stop then back to the boat . Guests saw large moray eels, lion fish, buffer fish, scorpion fish and much more.
Snacks was served and guests relaxed before the last night dive of the week.
Dive 4 – Small Giftun another easy mooring dive for the night dive. Guests saw large moray eels, cuttlefish, shrimps and much more.
We celebrated the week with a special dinner and watched the video of the week.
Day 6 – Friday 8th March 2024
Guests were woken at 6:00am and enjoyed their continental breakfast before dive 1.
Dive 1 – Small Giftun island a dive site called Police station. Guests took the zodiac around the reef and descended keeping the reef on the right heading back towards our boat. A fantastic dive very relaxing with a beautiful reef and 1000s of fish. Guests saw; moray eels, napoleon wrasse, lion fish and much more.
After the dive the breakfast was served.
Dive 2 – Small Giftun The guests liked the dive spot and decided to to the last dive of the week on the same spot from the back of the boat.
Lunch was served and guests relaxed while the crew washed their kit.
We celebrated the week with our cocktail party J
